Was I Wrong About Hunting?

I've always found it ironic that these very people's existence is due to the fact that their forefathers hunted, trapped, fished, and defended themselves and their progeny from animals that tried to kill them.

Yeah know,I thought people grew up after a certain age. All this hatred I see towards Trump, all this confusion in the government, people who make statements like this against hunters, people who talk all this bullshit about raising kids the right way and then they turn around and make statements like this as an example for children. The world is in sad, sad shape.

Your Typical Internet Big Mouth

I read somewhere the other day, that the reason you will never see hunters celebrate or wish death upon someone else, is because they actually understand what it is to have respect for life.

Thought is pretty much nailed it.

@SteveScott - Well stated, thank you for sharing it with our community

As always.... excellent stuff by @Steve Scott.

These ugly, vile, disgusting replies & responses by the so tolerant & loving left truly exposes the phony pieces of lying garbage they are. Spineless hypocrites of the highest order.

The quickest way to lose all faith in humanity is to skim the comments section of any article on the internet.
Very true, CEO. And Mr. Scott, very well written post which encapsulates the thoughts of many of us.

All one has to do to understand the challenges of "reasoning" with these trolls is to actually read the comments on ANY internet article or posting.....not just those related to hunting. It is simply unbelievable to see the depth of ignorance, lack of education, apathy and social incompetence.

God bless those who try hard to persuade and educate others, sometimes it works. But it will never work with those who have the communication skills of a............was trying to think of a really stupid animal, but couldn't bring myself to insult the animal this way.

Where the emotional hate comes from, I'm not sure. Maybe a terrible childhood, feelings of self importance, today's media...... or just a general lashing out because of deep rooted and hidden feelings of no self worth. It's hard to respect others lives, if subconsciously you do not respect your own.

No answers here.....just an uphill battle in regards to the "Great Unwashed Masses".

Again, great post Mr. Scott.

Thanks Steve for your very well written opinions. Absolutely amazes me just how low the anti hunting public can be. To wish harm on his family is dispicable. To wish harm on other hunters ,human beings is disgusting. Their ignorance is astonishing. Enough said about these sorry excuses for humans.

Well said my friend,

Steve
Well done! Unfortunately social media is full of hate but the comments you exposed were the words of Satan. Pure and simple evil and we must call evil what it is.
I've gotten lots of death threats online for my part in @trophythefilm and it's just sad that people are like that. They all threaten us as hunter and even our small children! That is where I really draw then line.
Regards
Philip

As already mentioned....thank you for putting in words what a lot of us are thinking.

R.

@Steve Scott Thank you. A very well written and moving piece.
Because we have a moral compass and compassion for our fellow man, we mourn for families who suffer loss and tragedy. We respect and value life. All life. Human life above all. This is conspicuously absent in those who would condemn us. Your article makes this point very elegantly and eloquently. Well done!

I'm gonna try and be more proactive against my friends who talk like this. I'm just not 100% sure what to say.

" Nice knowin' ya" comes to mind.

We live in a world where anti's, terrorists, leftwingers and rightwingers are willing to believe their cause is right and are willing to disparage or even harm those who disagree to make themselves feel more "righteous". We need to be sure we are not part of the problem in extremism in any form.

People who are willing to kill people to "protect" animals, people who are willing to kill others for God, people who want others to pay to support them. people who think carrying assault rifles in Wal-Mart is a good idea are all part of the problem.

Extremism is the enemy.

One little trick I have used over the years that has yet to fail is this: "For sake of argument let's say from this point forward, no more hunting. Who then will pay for wildlife?" If they are emotion driven, don't even bother. But if they truly want to understand our perspective, talk about the money we provide for conservation. Once the economic necessity of hunting is established, the conclusion that hunting is of value to society is obvious.

I don't know, I've seen some equally nasty things from hunters mouths in the direction of anti-hunters.

This is on a macro level. The internet has largely allowed people to say whatever they want with no repercussions unless people are stupid enough to use their real name.

It's very easy for me to be proactive against my friends that talk like this..... Enough Said!!!

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
