Well....I just got the zebra rug a couple of weeks ago, so I figured I'd make good use of it. They're definitely not for sale as of now, but I haven't shot either one yet.

I’ve got that pair myself

Had both as well, both gone. The .450 just beat hell out of me, recoil headache after about 3 rounds! The .303 was a super shooter but something else beckoned and it went down the road, sort of a rare beast now!

I'm working on just such a picture. Haven't been able to get the lighting just right as of yet though. Once the Leopard print loin cloth that you made for me shows up, I feel certain that I'll be able to pull it off.

What are you doing for glass on them?

I have a Leupold VX Freedom 1-4×20 that I plan to install on the 400. And will probably use a Leupold VX3 3.5-10×40 on the 300.

Well......somehow I managed to pick these two sisters up over the last few weeks. They are in 450/400 3" and 300 H&H. The way I look at it, there's not much you couldn't hunt in the way of medium to large game with this pair. From 10 feet to 400 yards, where most game is taken, I feel like these two will handle about any situation a hunter could find him or her self in.
They don't have the nicest wood I've seen on a Ruger 1, but they have a nice straight grain that should hold up well.
The 450/400 comes in at 8lbs even, with a 24" barrel. The 300 comes in at 7lbs 10oz with a 26" barrel. They both point like a fine shotgun, and are very lively in the hands. With the longer barrel of the 300 and the heavier barrel of the 400, they both balance perfectly. Looking forward to seeing how they shoot!

Lash out and put some nice wood on them and you will have the ideal African game pair that will look good as well.
You will be able to sell all your others and fund one big 6 month safari mate.

Installed these NECG sights today on the 450/400. It's hard to believe just how much easier it is to shoot accurately with these vs the factory open sights.

I have the NECG peep as a backup sight for my #1 .458 Lott. I can’t understand why “peeps” aren’t more popular. I think they are a lot quicker and more accurate than “standard” irons.

I agree. Plus they are much easier to use than open sights due to not having to focus on the back and front sights simultaneously. It's more of an "optical" sight.

You really don’t need another rifle with the versatility of those two calibers. So please sell your others on this site with a low AH discount

I did a little shooting today, with the 300 H&H. Only 75 yards, but man is this rifle easy to shoot, and looks to be very accurate. This was a Sierra Game King 165gr with 70gr RL19. First load I tried in this rifle. I only had 3 rounds loaded, so I moved the scope after the group was fired. Back to the loading bench, for another 20 of these loads to try at longer distances!
