Lots of delays with barrels, covid and more! .....but now for load testing (This is my 6th .600) Didn't build this one for Africa (not that I wouldn't take it!) but for fun and maybe some Hogs..or another Brown Bear some day?
It's short and handy at 36" and 9pds 10 oz as you see it with rear peep (add 2 pds for scope and rings)
(My first 16" .600 "Rogue" was 8 3/4pds!)
Here are some photos

That thing is a TANK in more ways than one! Looks great and hope it is everything you want it to be!

Would love to see you shoot a big brown bear with that rifle!

Wikipedia does not mention barrel length for the quoted velocities?

My question: Who was the sorry SOB who tested the second loading listed on Wikipedia (see below)? I went to the archive of the source website (470MBogo) but couldn't find any more detail about the load that generates nearly 20K ft lbs. (>27K J) of energy. Is that even possible?!

I don’t think you would would have the case capacity for that speed, I think 2400 or 2500 with a 900 grain would be about it but I’m wrong a lot.

Good Lawd! I handle a .458 Lott without problems but I would only want to watch someone shoot the Overkill! Definitely not a rifle to put a scope on! Hey @SAFARIKIDD I know where we can find you a bear in Spring 2026 and not very far from your other bear!

I do like your short barrelled big cal rifles....not in same league but my cz 500j has 20 inch barrel synthetic stock and weighs around 9.5lbs, and it's nearly twin brother apart from 21 inch barrel in 416 rigby, that is hopefully going to be shipped out here sometime this year...with some of my other toys I have been told weighs less than 9lbs...asked Paul to check its zero with irons and he said I was not looking forward to shooting a 416 that weighs less than 9lbs but it was actually fine... :E Big Grin: ..you need to come here with some of your toys just so we could have some fun with them....:A Thumbs Up:

And here I was whining about my back hurting after shooting 30 rounds of 416 Rigby this past Saturday! All other rifles below this are now deemed rat rifles! Hahaha!

I shot 20 rounds, not particularly hot loaded, from a 358 Win off the bench yesterday and thought "damn.. that kinda hurt.."...

Im feeling like something of a sissy now lol.. .

What stock did you go with and how’s it set up?

Hello, My wife and I hunted with Marius 2 years ago. He fit us into his schedule after a different outfitter "bailed" on us. He was always very good with communications and although we didn't end up meeting him personally, he called us multiple times during our hunt to make sure things were going well. We were very happy with him.

Reach out to the guys at Epic Outdoors.

They will steer you right for landowner tags and outfitters that have them.

I have held a membership with them for years and they are an invaluable resource.

Way better that asking random people on the internet...WAY better

Skydiver386,

Did you ever find your 30-06 CZ550? I own a fairly solid conditioned one, if you wanted to talk.
