Having hunted tuskless cows a couple of times, I definitely felt more intimidated by them than anything else I’ve hunted. We never got charged while actually in the field, but we did have one chase us in the truck for quite some distance while trumpeting the whole time. We did have a young bullet push us away from the herd one day. We retreated and he stomped around and pawed at the ground where we had just been standing. Luckily that’s as far as he came though. That’s the time when you’re happy to be holding a 458 and that your PH is holding a 500 Double.
This is making me look forward to this coming April. We’ll be hunting Mateke Hills. I’m told the bulls there are about a third larger in body size than the valley bulls. So that, and the thick cover should make for some existing hunting.

I'm certainly looking forward to your hunt report on this. Remind me, this is trophy or non-trophy?

Non trophy. Hopefully an old mature bull with broken off tusks or similar. They tell me this is an excellent area for elephants. Also hunting buffalo if I shoot an elephant first.

Recently I was a victim of CATLY scam and lost my life savings of about 347k, I went into depression and was afraid of telling anyone. All these happened so fast, I couldn't believe my eyes, I did some research and decided to contact CYBERPOINT RECOVERY, after asking some few questions and told me everything they will do to recover my money which I did; few days after my USDT was recovered back into my wallet. I can't thank this genius enough and I highly recommend everyone in need of help to write them immediately.be assured of their excellent and reliable service.
Yes, the follow up on a CATLY can certainly be a dangerous experience. I would definitely use soft points on my initial shot. It is a matter of debate whether softs or solids on the next rounds. A great trophy and story at the end of the day.

Bullshit......

Cyberpoint Recovery is a fake recovery service that scammers use to exploit victims of online fraud. Scammers may offer fake recovery assistance to victims, and in some cases may demand remote access to the victim's device.
How to avoid being scammed
Be cautious of online platforms and don't make financial commitments unless you're sure they're legitimate.
Be wary of emails and messages with attachments or links, especially if they seem suspicious or irrelevant.
Only download software from official or verified sources.
Be careful when installing software, and study the terms and options.
Don't enable browser notifications from suspicious pages.
What to do if you've been scammed
Report the scam to your bank and any other relevant authorities.
Contact the company you used to send the money and tell them it was a fraudulent transaction.

I was fortunate to hunt with a PH that had the objective to get in and out of every herd without disturbing them. Like Counting Coup. Of course not every stalk worked out that way.

At the beginning of the hunt we got very thorough instructions.
“When I tell you to retreat. turn around and walk fast but do not trip. Don’t look back. Just go.

Well on one particular stalk we found ourselves in very thick brush. And in the herd. The PH gave a quick warning and here she came. He turned and trotted towards my wife and I. We turned and my wife immediately tripped and fell.

I stopped to guard with my rifle and so did the PH. She quickly got up and we ran, Not walked for quite a distance. Very exciting.

We had them chase the truck and had several other cheeky cows on that hunt. It’s a lot of hunt for the money.

I see why people get hooked on elephant hunting.
Dalton Tink, I’m thinking

I really thought Richard Connell settled this in 1924.

Unlike most of you, I voted for Bull Elephants. On my very first African hunt, which was in 1983, my PH Roy Vincent (Alan Vincent’s father) told me right before we started looking for a suitable elephant bull, “Don’t ever forget that an elephant can hurt you worse on accident than most other animals can on purpose”. A few days later we had a good bull that was in musth and he got too close to us before charging. We both shot at the same time, stopping the bull at 9 yards. Had we not succeeded in stopping that bull I doubt either Roy or I would have survived as it was a very determined attack.

So, for me, Bull Elephant.

Habib,

since you have experience with problem tigers, what are your thoughts about their dangerousness?
@Tex .416

Please read Chapter VI of my autobiography, specifically the segments titled “Characteristics & Habitat” and “Royal Bengal Tigers & Man”. I’ve attached some pages for you.
