Folks,

what are the options for quality scope caps for the Z1-8 ?

Do Swaro make any that fit ?

What are others using ?

@pc3 for 2025, you really need to work on your Google skillset! :A Stirring:

Swaro makes scope lens covers and they are outrageously expensive.

I have the ones above. I ended up taking the rear one off but kept the front. Easy flick of the finger and it’s open. Nicely protects glass from the dust and any moisture.
I did exactly the same on the z8i 1-8 I had on my double rifle, the rear lens protector closed everytime I took a shot so I got rid of it. The forward one worked fine thought so for the z8i 1,7-13,3x42 I got for my new rifle I only bought the forward one.

Maybe ill try some butler creeks first time around....used them on every scope I've ever had and generally had no dramas and they are cheap. I meat grab the swaro covers a little down the track given for my safari I've purchased some viperflex sticks, leather gear from Jacques and the Z8 for my .416 recently.

No Aussie supplier seems to have them in stock either

I use the little bikini style cover that came with the scope. When the rifle comes off the truck, I take it off and put it in the day pack. I usually clean my scope lenses at the end (or beginning) of a day with a Zeiss wipe. Same for the binos, Rx glasses and sunglasses.

The ocular lens cup is used for parallax adjustment, buttons and switches for illumination along with the focus knob. Too much stuff on the ocular bell to put a cover on and have it not interfere with something else.

I suppose I could have one on the objective bell, but the bikini works fine most the time.

Seems like one more thing I don’t really need for African hunting conditions.

Mine wasn’t that bad but the spring is pretty anemic—nothing near as strong as the Leupold.
I like these covers mostly for dust/debris protection when riding in a truck/side by side/etc. Once I’m afoot or in the stand I open the caps (unless it’s raining).
I’m more than a little miffed that Swarovski doesn’t even offer a cover for the ocular on Z3s. Does anyone know of a suitable match to the objective cover?

I just mounted the swar covers on my Z8i. The eye piece cover SLP-E may be problematic when you need to focus with more magnification. You can't get a full spin on the cover without it hitting the rifle, so you need to close the cover to rotate fully. and be aware, you are now using the cover to focus, not the actual rubber ring. Not sure it will be a problem in the field.

Out of all the different color variations of Impala the black Impala just stands out with its beautiful pitch black hide.

Impala is one of the animals you will see all over Africa.
You can see them in herds of a 100 plus together.

This excellent ram was taken with one of our previous client this past season.
