Well back home now and back to reality. I just wanted to post a report on KMG safaris as a whole. I've had the pleasure and displeasure over the years to have hunted in many places and with a lot of different folks. Last year I spoke to several different hunting operators as a back up if we didn't get a leopard tag for a buffalo hunt. I can now say honestly I made the right choice. Not because I was 99% successful on my hunt ( klipsringer eluded us) but as an operation as a whole.
Let's take Marius for instance, he hunts hard and has a never give up attitude for his clients. He is constantly thinking about other options if necessary for his hunter. Can he be tough?, yes but that's because he wants his hunter to be successful. And it's only fair if the PH is busting his butt to put you on game then you should be ready too. I more than once got the over the shoulder look for stepping on a twig or two.
The lodge is very nice and comfortable. Even heated blankets are provided for the chilly night. Large clean room. The sitting area in the main lodge is also clean and very nice , with a nice bar area to talk about the day and unwind. Food is also good and no one goes hungry. Staff is friendly and accomadating. If anyone is looking to hunt in South Africa I can happily join many other clients and completely recommend KMG. I would also like to give a shout out to "Got the shot productions " who I hired to film my PG portion of my hunt. Not only did he film but he also glassed ,help load game, and knew exactly how not to move while stalking game. Reasonable priced too. You can see his videos on you tube. So in closing if you are considering KMG for a future hunt put any fears to rest YOU will be making the right choice.
I suggest you practice your avoid steppping on twigs skills! LolNext July it is for me. But now I'm worried...I'm a notorious twig stepper!

You too! LolGents, I can't say enough good things about Marius's hunting capabilities, maybe he is a little harder on me or maybe I should know better after five hunting trips with him, but the last time I stepped on a twig this past summer he practically threatened to take my boots away
Good news is you have 11 months to practice! lol
Thanks Roger I'm curious on his bases.Yes John, he is a awesome Waterbuck. Congrats!
I'm sure Marius will see the post and respond. Thanks Roger I'm curious on his bases.
Already at Splitting Image taxidermy for dip/pack. I've asked them to measure for SCI and to measure my black wildebeest, just out of curiosity as I don't put anything in SCI anymore.I'm sure Marius will see the post and respond.
Martin and I taped the length but don't recall the bases.
