SOUTH AFRICA: Paw Print Safaris & Me Hunt 2016

Charlie you heading to the bushpig set up soon?

Reedy why did you need to bring that up? Leave my little piggys alone. LOL they are having some rain and hail today and maybe rain tomorrow to.

Yes we are going up there. There are some good ones on the bait. I hope to get two side by side and watch the 416 punch through both of them!

Good luck!

Some great trophies so far sir! Love the mop on that eland - and a great heart shot! Waiting for the next instalment . . .

He did have a nice head of hair and as the skinners began to wash him off it became obvious that he was indeed grey colored.
Loading this big guy into the truck was an adventure! The wench could not pull him into the bed even with four people helping. Plan B was to remove some of his intestines. Still couldn't pull him in...so the truck had to be repositioned below and down hill from the beast to get him in the truck! Let's just say Pieter really had to be careful driving the truck down the highway with this guy in the back!

Nice Eland Charlie. You obviuosly approached him from his off side so that he could not hear you.

:ROFLMAO:, that's funny

That's my dream horn shape for a eland!

What a great Eland, he'll look great in the trophy room.

Congratulations on a great eland Charlie! I look forward to the next addition.

In fact that side was facing me but I didn't notice! The ticks had really done a number in him!

Well the morning hunt was almost over when we had two porcupine cross the road in front of us and they tried to go under a hole in the fence. However, with an inch and a half of rain last night they turned around and ran back across the road. I took a shot at the lead varmint and was sure I had hit it. Both animals went down a hole but we managed to get them both as they tried to exit the other side of the den. It appears that the first animal I shot his back leg off. The taxidermist will need to put the two together to make one because the other one I shot in the head.

Beautiful animals Charlie! Very impressive. Those Eland are big animals & can take a bullet. Was that a middle finger i saw in the sunset pic?!!?!?!

BWH it was indeed the middle finger! There had been a very long forced march preceding the picture taking!

Hahaha!!! LOL!

Thank you Art! He really is a big eland! His horn shape is very good and the ridges are big!

Another picture! The wench as I mentioned earlier could not pull this guy into the truck so Max is about to cut him open and remove some weight!

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary
