I would like perspective on the news accounts of land seizures, Afrikaner migration, and any other related issues that we here in America are hearing in the news.
Very interested in actual South African opinions about the direction of the country, now and in the future.

Following with interest.

Looks like some threads need to be merged.

From what I understand, the Expropriation Act of 2025 (not land seizure) this is akin (in part) to our law of eminent domain to be used "in the public interest". There is a legal process to this, but who knows.

From talking with my outfitter, land "seizure" and genocide is definitely going on, but is being ignored or being called "disinformation" by western media.

He told me that there are basically 2 schools of thought by landowners in South Africa:

1. Normally bias - the landowners that haven't yet experienced it personally, and don't know anyone who has. He said these "well-intentioned" guys, just can't believe it and hold their property or even expand it when a good deal come along.

2. The "experienced" - the landowners who have experienced it or know someone who has and are divesting as quickly as possible.

He now only owns property in the Western Cape, because (he said) it is the only province not controlled by the ANC.

Just my communications...

I guess too it depends on the type of property. If if its taking lucrative farm land and re-distributing it to a family who has nothing, what do they have to even begin farming? A loss from the get go. Soooo socialist.

IMO, "normalcy bias" would be very hard for most people to overcome.

I know, I would be susceptible to it as a landowner with at least 6 generations owning the same property in southern Appalachia. Surrounded by the same people with the same values, religion, ideals, etc.

I would be skeptical of a "boogeyman" on the horizon, and could well hold out until I have nothing to hold...

I would hope I would have the ability, to liquidize 1/2 of what I have in order to be able to establish an operation somewhere else, but I really don't know that I would.

Unlike America, the "gun control" in Africa would make it almost impossible to mount a defensive against the government.

In America, the 2nd Amendment to our constitution says that "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed"

Our Constitution constrains our government.

It doesn't constrain Citizens.

That makes all the difference...

their country, their rules, but i would be planning a quick move if i lived there, once its started it will roll over all of south africa pretty quick i think.

I think it is mostly speculation so far. The eye of the world is now on RSA. We will see.

The US State Department last issued a travel advisory update on South Africa in November 2024.

No new update usually means, nothing has changed. However, it can now mean the people that did the update at the State Department were fired by Trump and Elon and nobody remaining knows how or where to do the update.

The world map shows South Africa threat level is no different than Greenland, Zim, Zam or Nam. Moz is a higher threat level.

Greenland also should be red!

Tucker Carlson recently recorded a podcast interview entitled "Ernst Roets: Attacks on Whites in South Africa, Attempts to Hide It, and Trump's Plan to End It." This 1h50m interview does a great job providing historical context dating back to the Apartheid struggle and forward to the current difficulties. There is a lot of discussion of the Western (American) involvement in the current political and media situation in RSA.

He also does a great job discussing the history of the Battle of Blood River in 1838, wherein 470 Voortrekkers under the command of Andries Pretorius held off an army of 20,000 Zulus after swearing a vow that if God would provide them with protection, they would serve Him going forward. The Voortrekkers suffered no casualties and inflicted about 3,000 on the Zulus. Roets said you must understand this history to understand the deep love and commitment they feel for land they purchased legally and bled for, many of them owning land in South Africa before the Battle of Independence in the USA.... He himself is a 9th generation Afrikaner.

I learned a lot and can recommend the podcast to all who are interested.

I think you guys are a lot more concerned about us than what we are about ourselves.

We have learnt to survive in this country.

God willing I am not going anywhere.

I posted this on the politics forum:

%90+ of the private land is owned by whites along with %90+ of the total wealth in RSA.
There's no illegal land grab going on and a white majority party is in the ruling coalition.
There are a lot more serious issues RSA is facing such as %40 unemployment and crime.
I spent more than 3 months in RSA and talked and spent time with a lot of people.
Having said that I would like to hear from South African whites as well.
