SOUTH AFRICA: Cape Buffalo In The Limpopo With KMG Hunting Safaris!

Congratulations gentlemen on two very fine bulls and a fantastic hunt. I read with much interest as I'm 60-odd days from hunting Buffalo with Marius myself, on a hunt that was also originally booked for 2020.

Gentlemen:

Thank you for all of the kind words. This was a great hunt, despite the challenges of missing luggage.
I have a great time hunting with Mani. I am glad he reached out to me early when I threw out the idea of an AH Get Together in London in 2018. Little did I realize that would lead to a great friendship and erstwhile hunting partner. I am also thankful for my friendships with @Goose Cracker and @dabloobana .

We recovered one of the two TSX from the Buffalo. I'll try to upload it later. The tracker did not tell me where it was recovered from. Performance was great. I would like to have seen how the Woodleighs out of my .416 Ruger would have performed.

I've been on AH since 2016, shortly after booking my first safari. My first hunt was fine. However, I was under the illusion that would be my only African hunt. I had done a fair amount of research leading up to choosing the outfitter. AH would have given me more resources and I may have realized a clearer path forward.

I am so glad that Marius took us where he did to hunt Buffalo. It was an honest hard hunt. We're kicking around plans for our next Buffalo hunt. My endorsement doesn't mean any more than the credence you fine people are willing to give it.

Just seeing this- great report!

Think of the air-miles that blue suitcase must have earned!
Great report on a very tough hunt.
Love the shoes off. Tracking eland in stony country, my PH made everyone take their boots off but didn’t ask me. It turned out a very long stalk and all the crew pulled up lame. They had to radio camp to be picked up as they couldn’t walk any further. I re-branded them as Sore Feet Safaris.

Thanks for sharing gents excellent hunt.

I was scanning this post and saw a solid mustache on an olive skinned man. I thought, there cant be two of these guys out there...

Congrats to you both!

Bro when it comes to get togethers with hunters I'm all in. TBH my highlight of the DSC is meeting other forum members and then having a few drinks with them at the dinner.

That and making plans for more hunts. @Vanguard2279 It was an honour to hunt with you and witness the shot being made. I now feel closer to you due to that (in a non homosexual way (I dont judge those who are)).

Thank you for a great write up. Glad you guys had an awesome hunt. Wife and I really enjoyed visiting with you two at the DSC dinner. Will be buffalo hunting with Marius May of 2024. Go KMG!

Somehow I almost missed this one. Glad I didn’t.
Great story well told. Congratulations to you both on your hard-earned grand bulls!!

Thank you for taking the time to write up the report, Nate. This was a trip with a lot of emotional highs and lows. The highs and lows can come, as long as we never give up.

Take care my friend. Until next time.

Marius

Thank you, Marius. Whenever I start a hunt report, I worry that it won't be interesting. Fortunately, I had plenty of material to work with. Everything about this hunt was great (except for the missing suitcase part). Thanks for helping to exorcise the demon of 2019. Mani and I took great bulls due to your and Paul's diligence.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
