Well, we've done firearms and calibers............so, what companies do you dislike, for whatever reason. I have three (at the moment)
Remington: I've never seen a company that loves to take something good (or in some instances, great), and turn around and cheapen it to the point where it is worth it...........welcome to Remington arms. For the record, I have several older Remington firearms that I cherish hunting with, but the stuff they are putting out now.........it's pure crap!! Plastic parts which were formerly metal, the break easily and replacement parts that are way too expensive for what they cost to make............it's almost as if it were planned. No thanks; newer Remington firearms will never find a place in my gun cabinet. They also have decided to quit supplying reloading components, which has left me in a bit of a lurch. Guess this is what happens when a good "family" business gets bought by a "conglomerate".
Hodgdon Powder company: Hodgdon powder company bought the Winchester powder line and the DuPont powder line.........then promptly discontinued many of the offerings (as well as some of their own) without having ready substitutes or data. Then they made the "big announcement" of "new" powders, which they promptly discontinued after about 5 years (once people had bought the stuff and worked up loads for it). When they came out with their "new" data book, I bought it, thinking that there would be new loads for the new powders. what did I find? Data listing all the old powders which they discontinued over 20 or so years ago! don't bother to complain; they do not reply. In addition, the powders that they supposedly do still manufacture have been off the shelves for years!!! They really do not know how to treat the people that are their "bread and butter", nor do they care. I guess military contracts are worth more than sportsmen and women.
Alliant Powder company: This is the company that I hate the most! I hope it goes belly up and its CEO and board members rot in hell! Last year, Alliant decided it would no longer sell to the general public. It wasn't really a surprise, as just about ANY Alliant powder was impossible to find! I started reloading shotgun shells using green dot, red dot, Herco, Unique, and blue dot. When I started shooting handguns, I added 2400, and when they came out with STEEL, I started reloading steel shotshells and hevi shot in earnest. When they brought back their rifle powders, I started using reloader 7 and Reloader 19......now to find that all the money I spent on working up loads using these powders is now useless and obsolete! I'm glad I loaded up a TON of steel shotshells, because STEEL was the ONLY powder that gave good performance in a nontoxic handload.........and now I'm left in a lurch if I wish to load any more.
Oh, and don't bother to try and contact them............as with Hodgdon, they don't give a damn about your opinions or concerns............its just crickets!
So how abought it..............now is you time to vent!!! What companies do you hate?
I'm 52 I quit buying Remington guns in my mid 20s. Remington today is pathetic compared to when I was a kid. The best firearms you will get from Remington is from the custom shop.
Companies I get annoyed with or don't like.
Zeiss.............believe it or not Zeiss probably makes the best glass in the world but unlike Swarovski they will make something great then discontinue it
Sako just sad to see what they are making these days. They seemed to have gotten away from beautiful wood stocked rifles. Everything seems like its carbon fiber or plastic. Their actions are still incredible but I just don't like the look of the stuff they make now. Wish they would bring back the Grey Wolf laminate wood series
Swift Bullets...........Love Bill Hober but they seem to never have any big bore dangerous game A Frames. Its like you have to call and beg them to make 3 or 4 boxes
Benelli/Beretta........Incredible shotguns but they both virtually ignore the passionate turkey hunter for upland and duck hunters
Spectrum Cable...............Nearly 300$ a month for basic cable and internet service
Royal Caribbean..........worse than the greediest strippers at a strip club trying to up sell you. They up sell
EVERYTHING accept the air you breath on Royal Caribbean. If they could sell you air on their ships they would. You pay all this money to get room then they start hitting you with drink packages, food packages, when you go to one of their islands its 3 or 4 more different packages and you're still paying for food and drinks separately. Their cruises aren't all inclusive but scams. Imagine if you went on a safari and the PH told you that food, beverages, trackers, skinning and use of a hunting vehicle were all additional fees and daily rates.
American Airlines........If it's drizzling outside your flight will be cancelled or late, almost guaranteed
United Airlines/Newark Airport.........Probably the worst international airport in the United States, definitely the worst on the east coast. Right outside of NYC they only have 2 run ways in operation. Anti gun, uncomfortable seats, rude flight attendants, loss & destruction of your firearms if not careful
Disney/ESPN/SEC..........ESPN's greed along with the SEC has ruined college football with uneven television contracts, conference expansion, and a corrupt selection committee for the 12 team playoff format.
Fountaine Blue Hotel Miami Beach/Las Vegas............ridiculously over priced for their rooms and they try to charge an additional 500-800$ daily for a pool cabana with shade on super hot days during the summer. They tried to sell my 14 year old daughter a 700$ Versace bathing suit, told her to charge it to the room.
