So, I Was In The Loading Room Today...

So I was in the loading room today and I got to try out my new to me, Lyman case trimmer. I found it in the dumpster of a John Deere dealer. I had until now been taking brass to a buddy’s house for trimming. There was a set screw broken off in the adjustment collar, so I got the new collars for $10. Now I have my own!

You just reminded me that I hate trimming cases with my 40+ year old RCBS trimmer.

One day I need to break down and get something easier on my 62 year old hands.

Get the Hornady Prep station, I think they have an adapter that you can run it off your PTO on the tractor to make it feel more old timey! Lol

The LE Wilson trimmer is terrific btw.

I would only buy that if I could get it in John Deere Green

Gonna have to wait for Redding to come out with one!

There! Does that answer your question?

Now stop exposing us!

:ROFLMAO:

I think you guys exposed yourselves.......wait a minute

From the loading room today......the 7-30 Waters with 120 gr Sierra Pro Hunter for the Thompson Center Contender 14 " BBl. with a Leupold 2,5-8x32 Vari X2 EER

Not a real Big Bore, but a lot of fun to shoot,.....

Just snagged another 8 pounds of Unique and 14 pounds of IMR 4227.

Was a really good deal...just under $11/pound.

Why does my wife look at me funny when I get all giddy over a powder deal? Doesn't she appreciate how my wheeling and dealing is saving her money? :A Banana Sad:

Well, I was supposed to be at the range today....but a face-plant onto the concrete driveway stumbling off a ladder with a gallon can of paint (which ended up between by chest and the driveway, forcing the contents of the can up my nose, into my eyes and in my mouth) created enough soreness that my desire to load up and drive 90 minutes each way was severely eroded!

So instead, I watched some football and putzed in the loading room (not at the same time!).

Here are 303 . 308s all ready for powder.

At least the day wasn't a total loss!

Wyatt - the best part about that bench is all the 4x6 timbers I used to make it were free!

When we bought our house in Richmond, VA back in 2000, the previous owners left about a dozen 8' 4x6 timbers in a pile in the back yard. :)

Every time I use that bench I grin. lol

So after a weekend with a fair amount of time in the loading room, I was getting jittery on a Tuesday evening.

So after sharpening three chains for this weekend's work up at Trails End, I decided to hit the bench for a little spot of loading.

Anyone ever played with 220gr bullets in the .308 Win? :)

220gr Woodleigh. Ladder loads up to 42gr of CFE 223. Just for fun (and science!).

The 42gr CFE loads gave 2,255fps (instrumental at 10') with the 220gr Woodleigh out of a M99 Savage.
