Smells

Smokin' .22 hulls and the smell of squirrel hollows.
Grass fires in Africa.
Two cycle outboard motor exhaust and fog on the water.
Smell of baby pups with their eyes barely open.
Neighbor's BBQ grill firing up back home.
Hot canvas on a tent exposed to Texas summer sun.
Clean fresh smell of the air after a good thunder shower.
Hot coffee and wood smoke from an open fire.

- Floid Blue aftershave after a nice fresh shave with a DE razor combined with a nice hot cup of coffee nearby.
- Unmistakable smell of dead/dying marsh grass at low tide on a winter morning here in NJ, launching my boat to duck hunt.
- That fresh sea-breeze before first light heading offshore.
- Smell of fish-oil heavy in the air from a tuna-slick.
- That first hint of diesel exhaust when we fire up the boat to head out (love and hate with this one)
- The smell of Africa. I can't recall what it is, but it stuck with me. The dust, the scrub, the food, etc.
- My wife's perfume. Marly Delina. Makes me remember the day I married her. One of the best days of my life.

And my favorite:

- The top of my son and daughter's heads. Still smells like it did the day they were born. Maybe it's in my head, maybe it's not. That takes me somewhere. Somewhere I will remember till the day I die. Two of the best days of my life.

Pipe tobacco. My best friend in highschool’s dad smoked a pipe. We’d be bailing hay in the evening and he’d be smoking his pipe between loads. Takes me back to memories of warm summer nights, fresh milk from the cows, and catching brown trout on the fly rod during the hex hatch after dark.
My dad smoked a pipe. I remember it smelling a lot better than those damned cigarettes. As I can't seem to get Gina to quit smoking, I wonder if I could get her to switch to a pipe ;)

Absolutely!!! Same here. It’s not in your head. There have even been tests where mothers and babies have been intentionally mixed up and mothers could easily identify their kid by smelling their head.

My 19yo daughter also still smells the exact same as the day she was born.

I love the smell of Grass Pollen, some people get something they call hay fever from it LOL, but being a Grass Seed Farmer in Oregon when I smell it I know a few more days and it'll be harvest. Peppermint being distilled reminds me that Football season is almost here

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
Behind the scenes of taking that perfect picture.....

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
