Another Wilbur Smith story that filmed well with Lee Marvin and Roger Moore was SHOUT AT THE DEVIL. A real hoot! Book was great too.

Based on Wilbur Smith's book of the same name, which was loosely about PJ Pretorius and the sinking of the Konigsberg. (Pretorius' book "Jungle Man" is a good read, and is the true story )

WHITE MISCHIEF, about the Happy Valley goings on in British East. THE ROOTS OF HEAVEN, with Trevor Howard about a man trying to stop the slaughter of elephants. Good movie. THE LION, with Trevor Howard and William Holden, non hunting but filmed in Africa and a good story. PBS mini series, IN THE HEAT OF THE SUN, about a British cop in East Africa with similar story as WHITE MISCHIEF. When you starting adding it all up, there has been lots of movies made about Africa. Just remembered another one, loosely based on the Tsavo lion story, BWANA DEVIL with Robert Taylor and I think Frankie Avalon of all people. Sort of a turkey.

I have that one, quite interesting. Butler is sort of anti hunting but tries to be objective.

And for those who are curious, it is a great movie with an absolutely stellar performance by Forest Whitaker.

This one has just been released and is playing in Lagos. Stars Danny Glover.

When Patrick Sawyer a Liberian American collapses upon arrival at the Murtala Mohammed International airport, Lagos - Nigeria. He is taken to First Consultant Hospital, where he is admitted with fever like symptoms.
Against his denials of contact with any Ebola victim in Liberia, the team at first consultant led by Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh quickly deduce there is more to his case than malaria. Their vigilance leads to an early detection that Mr Sawyer indeed had the Ebola Virus disease. Now it’s a race against time to contain a deadly disease from breaking out and infecting an entire city population and beginning what could be the biggest deadly disease outbreak the world has ever known.
The scare is palpable across the country. The doomsday scenario imagined is here.
Over a 93-day period from when Sawyer comes in contact with men and women from Nigeria, WHO and MSF does battle with this deadly disease. At its core, 93Days is a compelling human story of dedication, sacrifice, resilience and survival.

I'm pretty sure that Ryan Shallom's father purchased the truck used in the movie "Hatari". He told us about it when we hunted with him 3 years ago.
Which one?

GORILLAS IN THE MIST with Sigourney Weaver is a good Africa movie. The Dian Fossey story. Music is also excellent.
