Show Us Your Highland Stalker

I just received my first Rigby this week HS in 9.3x62. Shot it for the first time last night. I can't wait to use it in SA this August.

I had almost the exact same idea on casing my DR and Rigby for travel! I did come up with a way to also put two soft cases in the pelican and all of the other non-firearm related items without risking contact with the guns. I cut the outside foam piece in half and then put the soft case, cleaning, accoutrement, and slings under it. That way, it adds a little additional padding, but doesn’t make contact with the guns at all.

That's a great idea! I'd love to see a picture or two.

My .275. Only "custom" feature was a slightly longer throat to optimize 170 class bullets. Pure luck with the stock.

I took ours to JJ and had the throat lengthened also. It is also stamped both 275 Rigby/7x57

Here's a few HS the local Rigby distributor had at our SHOT Expo last weekend.

As a few of you probably already know, I recently purchased a Rigby Highland Stalker in 9.3X62. Finally got my hands on it today, haven't had it on the range yet but so far super happy with it.

I have noticed quite a few different threads on here where people are asking about scope mounts for this rifle, chamberings, costs, upgrades, weight, best scope choices etc. I thought maybe a thread specific to Highland Stalkers might help people out when they are considering one and looking for info on these rifles.

So show us your Highland Stalkers!

Mine is the standard configuration as per the specs on Rigby's website, no upgrades, chambered in 9.3X62, built in 2018 so has been sitting on the shelf for quite a while, genuine Mauser Hexalock mounts, Leupold VX-3HD 1.5-5 scope, rifle weighs in at 8.74lbs unloaded with the mounts and scope, perfect amount of bolt clearance with the scope using the Hexalock mounts. I'm going to be running heavy for calibre 320 grain Woodleighs through it for big game in the northern part of Australia. Will be sure to let you know how it shoots when I get it the range.

Beautiful Rifle
Congratulations!!

It’s truly amazing how many on this forum have Highland Stalkers. Marc clearly read the market correctly with these rifles. I love the rifle, and I have to admit that there’s a part of me that likes knowing my name is in the ledger of a London gun company.
G'day WAB,

I passed this message onto Marc Newton and he replied with "That's made my day". Thank you for the kind words, glad to know you appreciate the rifle.

Thanks.

Sadly, I cant seem to locate anyone in the states that can bring one in. I wonder which company built that for them? It looks really nice....and spendy!
G'day franzfmdavis.

If you'd like, I can look into having one of our Rigby Scopes shipped out to the US should you still wish to purchase one. If so, shoot me a message and will see what we can do.

Thanks.

Thank you for the quick reply. Actually the Z6 1.7-10x42 is one of my favorites and will probably be what I use. Maybe the illuminated reticle version. This will primarily be for plains game, leopard and some local deer hunting at reasonable ranges.

Are these the EAW mounts directly from Rigby? I was wondering if they match the finish on the HS?
G’day Razorback.

We can definitely supply you with the EAW scope mounts. They are a really good product. If you’re still interested in some, please shoot me a message, more than happy to assist.

Thanks.

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.
