Outstanding mounts , even the wife liked them !

Thanks Dory - much appreciated. Every time we walk into our house it reminds of our times in Africa. My wife has now been bitten by the bug and is looking forward to our next trip.

I look forward to the Kudu and Buff in December. Thanks for posting!

Very cool Dave!

BTW, my son is at Texas A&M Fire Academy right now! Is already a certified EMT and also just completed his Fire Science degree. Starting Paramedic training in September...hopes to follow in your footsteps!

Tim
I don't have the Fire certs, but I love being a paramedic (most days). I prefer to leave the burning building stuff to someone else, just let me save the unfortunate victim.

I'm a lucky guy with a great wife, when I shot a giraffe she was the one who said the only place it would be able to fit is right in the front-door entry of the house. She's been talking about some of the things she can move off walls to make room for the mounts, her only stipulation has been that when I go back for safari #2 she wants to go this time.

JEALOUS!!!!

Hi
will gladly post a photo of my "trophy room" although it may feel inadequate alongside @bluey 's room:( Once Im back home in SA ill send a pic through....until then here's something else.
First things first, Im no taxidermy....no sir! But I found my father in laws kudu horns and a set of OLD springbok horns in the attic that he shot back in the 70s and the horns had been there ever since. they had gathered alot of dust but were still in relatively good shape so as a surprise for him I made kudu lamps and a springbok meat hook for the "braai" when he wants to turn some chops!

Very nice Sable123!

I would love to make a couple of those wall lamps from Kudu horns. Kinda pricey though for a bloke from the Colonies to get a set...even a cull bull.

I seen smaller kudu horns reasonably priced on ebay that would make good lamps or décor.

A 61 inch kudu is amazing. I do like the way things are displayed

Thanks CAustin. Wife said we can put our mounts throughout the house with the exception go the master bedroom. Thank God we have a sitting area in the master:)

I am currently in the process of figuring out how to finish my 1200 ft shop to not only be my functional work area but to also display all of my taxidermy.

Show off time!!!!

Please let's see your stuff

Ted

Ted,

1200 sq ft will make a great size trophy room. Does it have a tall ceiling? That's really the key. I'm planning my retirement house right now and my trophy room will be 20x30, with 17-20 ft ceiling height. I'm finding out that building a trophy room is a lot like buying a gun safe: You go with the biggest one you can afford and all too soon you've filled it up and wished you had gone with a bigger one.

Impressive hunting trophies Bruce.

My humble room . Time to sell and buy a bigger place. Still have 6 more African trophies coming.

Hello Doug,
I am Philippe from France and plan to go hunting Caprivi in 2026, Oct.
I have read on AH you had some time in Vic Falls after hunting. May I ask you with whom you have planned / organized the Chobe NP tour and the different visits. (with my GF we will have 4 days and 3 nights there)
Thank in advance, I will appreciate your response.
Merci
Philippe
