Scopes for Plains Game

So I’m sitting here stressing about my scope. The rifle I’m taking to Africa next year is a very reliable Ruger .300 win mag. I’ve killed a lot of animals with this gun. Everything from small whitetails to mule deer to elk. I bought the gun when I was 16 and it’s always been topped with a Nikon prostaff 3-9x40 that I bought at the same time. It’s always been 100% reliable and never lost zero and I have not been easy on it. So my question to you all is would you take that scope to Africa? Or would you pony up for something like a leupold or trijicon? Just kinda looking for advice.
No worries! Your scope will do just fine! Enjoy your hunt!

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John [redacted]

Out of all the different color variations of Impala the black Impala just stands out with its beautiful pitch black hide.

Impala is one of the animals you will see all over Africa.
You can see them in herds of a 100 plus together.

This excellent ram was taken with one of our previous client this past season.
