I'm new, and I may be "unwise", but this cannot still be available? I mean there is simply no reason I need this, I recently won, at auction, a decent 400 Jeffery (pics to follow)...but this looks supremely 'handy'....right? Somebody help me! This desire isn't rational, right?

I am having a blast with this rifle! Several blasts, in fact. Put on a Limbsaver and it tames the 286gr way down. Oryx 232s are dead on. Highly recommend this caliber in Ruger No. 1.Sold pending funds to bilmcc!

I have a 450/400 N.E. 3" in No. 1. Seven rounds left me with a recoil headache. Not conducive to a lot of practice. So I got this nearly identically configured 9.3x74r to practice (and for black bear and elk if I ever get a tag). With the limbsaver, I can shoot the 286 grain loads all day long. Using 232gr, I think it would be great for plains game. I am hoping the practice will transfer to the big gun, with a little tweaking on the range, 3-4 shots per session.I use 404Jeffery.This is a great caliber.
I recommend.

I had installed a Limbsaver on the 450/400, and the recoil on the shoulder is not painful at all, but it did not help the recoil headaches. I guess at my advanced age, that is my recoil limit. The Limbsavers or a Pachmyer recoil pad makes all the difference. I have a No1 in 458 Lott that was just hard on the shoulder. But once I put the slip on Pachmyer on it things got very tolerable!
