Willem, I came across a nifty little item a few month back. I found it in the camping/survival section of Amazon.com, it's called the life straw. Look up the reviews an see for yourself. It's a water purification straw, and after reading up on it, I ordered 6 of them. Very handy item until you get established and start purifying your own water.

Water purification tablets, toilet paper fire starter, with that and a standard hunting rig you should be good for a couple of days at least. I also carry a Multi tool,extra half box of ammo (besides whats in the gun and cartridge belt), rifle, binos, folding knife, 3 liter camel back and a few power bars when im out in the woods.
