Reliability of single-shot rifles

i have a 1885 repo browning low wall in rem .260 that pretty light and shoots very well.

Not a single shot but made for the mountains of Switzerland and a little different, my Blaser R93/Makura Ulrich Takedown, easy on calibers, repeatable scope mounting, press a button and twist rifle into two parts for very easy transport, repeatable and accurate.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
