I wonder how this will pan out.....I see a bit of chaos here....and a nice earner for the government....

Those kind of actions usually result in sanctions because the Proof is usually too hard to produce or the sources and methods are not worth airing.

So it goes down as an additional check mark in the future military action column. Or a similar covert action on a Russian target.

(Bloomberg) -- President Donald Trump’s administration is likely to accept a luxury Boeing 747-8 jumbo jet from Qatar’s royal family, in what may be the most valuable gift ever received from a foreign government, ABC News reported Sunday.

Seems bit of contradiction going on from what both sides have said....

The problem with Trump jokes is the Republican don’t think they are funny and the democrats don’t see them as jokes….
Unlike “Let’s go Brandon”. A self inflicted joke that worked both ways :) :)

Isn’t accepting a plane from Qatar basically accepting one from Iran?
In a word, no. Qatar is a tiny country that survives in a really bad neighborhood by exercising a truly adroit foreign policy. On the one hand it tries to maintain cordial relations with Iran because the two countries share the largest natural gas field in the world. But obviously, the power is disparity is enormous. Also. Qatar has had periodically rough relations with the House of Saud. To balance those concerns, Qatar decided to offer basing to US forces in the Gulf region. Since the late nineties it has hosted the largest US military base in Middle East at Al Udeid Air Base. It is the home CENTCOM forward and other commands. About ten thousand military personnel are stationed there at any given time. Yours truly helped negotiate the basing rights there back in the day.

I apparently had an interesting tariff experience? I am a periodic customer of New Forest clothing in the UK. They have one of the finest selections of European style hunting clothing to be found anywhere (excellent selection of the generally unobtainable in the US). I was making a $228 purchase. At checkout, a Duties and Fees charge of $461.38 was added which brought the total $689.38! Needless to say, I passed on the opportunity to contribute to this insanity.

I can't do the math that creates a nearly $500.00 charge, so we'll see what they say to my query.

Not to worry, we have announced a new trade deal with the UK. It’s going to be great, the best ever, unbelievable.

What could possibly go wrong?

Interested to see what their reply to your query is, as I understand it the 10% baseline tariff is still in affect but I'd love to hear where they are coming up with 200ish%?

Considering that 1 year ago today Tesla stock was selling at $171 a share.. and today it is trading at $297.. I don't think Elon is sorry at all...

I think he is likely laughing all the way to the bank..

Sales mean nothing to a shareholder.. share value is all that matters..

Sales can indeed impact share value.. but if you think sales is the only thing that drives the market.. you probably should do a little more research..

liberals congratulating themselves on the devaluation of tesla in March conveniently forget how it was artificially inflated in November when Trump won the election.. it bounced from the low 200's to almost 480 within 60 days..

It then took a nose dive starting in early February.. that lasted a whopping 30 days.. and now has been climbing again for the last 2 months.. and is a full 57% more valuable today than it was a year ago..

I only wish I had bought a few thousand shares last year so I could have made 57% on my money like Elon has made on his billions over the last 12 months..

With all of that information now on the table.. do you really think Elon is sorry that Sweedes arent buying Teslas? or that he's lost even a single wink of sleep over it?

On May 9 (this morning) Forbes estimated Musks current net worth to be $342B..

In October of 2024 his net worth was $256B..

I suppose he's just distraught over those sales figures lol..

Now Im regretting not buying Tesla last week lol... its at $317 right now and still climbing sharply today..

I think Elon is absolutely loving his decision to get involved with the Trump administration, and specifically take on the DOGE task.. his personal net worth continues to rise.. his time in the limelight continues to rise... Investments in his other pet projects and companies like SpaceX are booming...

Forbes says he is worth $395B today.. that's a pretty good bump from the $342B he was worth on last Friday..

At this rate I bet he is praying that Europeans crush all of their Teslas with tanks as quickly as they can get the task accomplished lol..

Several studies and AI algorithms predict Musk will be worth $1T by the end of 2027 (well before Trump leaves office)..

While I don't think those algorithms are correct (if they were, we'd all be billionaires.. they cant accurately predict the swings in the markets often enough to be of any use, etc).. I do think its telling that people that love Musk and people that hate Musk all agree.. he is going to remain in the top seat as the worlds wealthiest man for a long time to come..
