There has also been mention of Canada joining the European Union but that is mostly folly. Although we share boarders with France and Denmark in a technical sense and recognize both official languages of the E.U. Article 49 clearly states that countries applying to the E.U. Must be within Europe and the precedent was already set with the denial of Morocco’s application in the 80s.

Hans island is in the territorial waters of both Canada and Denmark there is a long running “feud” going where both countries militarily visit the island through the year remove the others flag and leave a bottle for the other. In 2022 the dispute was settled by splitting the island and most likely the whiskey involved.

Im not convinced this wasnt done on purpose.. (who knows what that purpose would be)..

Signal/Whatsapp/telegram/etc isn't how classified information is shared among defense (and other) government officials.. even at the lowest level..

there are multiple govt systems in place where "chat groups" can be established that are used to convey classified information in real time (different levels of classification results in different systems being used)..

All of the officials on that signal group have access to those govt systems.. it would actually be harder for them to use signal than to use the govt systems...

putting it on signal was done for a reason.. and whoever was in that signal group was put in there for a reason..

Not sure I trust/put confidence in the Atlantic in any case.

With regards to Trumps foreign enemies act usage siting on appeal at the US DC Circuit Court of Appeals.

What is your guess the 3 judges will decide?

I am thinking the injunction will stay in place. Forcing it to the USSC.

My reasoning is that during the GWOT the USSC ruled that even enemy combatants captured on the battlefield and brought to the U.S. had rights and the Bush administration was forced to give them due process. So I’m thinking this is how the lower courts are viewing the deportations.

They are hanging their hat on the due process issue. How is it proved that these people are Gang members from Venezuela.


It’s a shame these same judges didn’t seem to mind the law being broken and force the government to screen them on the way in that they now want on the way out.

The Trump team should argue that the due process would be much smoother if when the gang bangers were arrested they would be held and handed over to ICE.

Currently they are released and ICE is kicking down doors to Re-arrest them. It’s expensive, dangerous and more difficult to perform the due process.

If they want due process. Perhaps go after the sanctuary cities and Soros DAs and Mayors releasing gang bangers back onto our streets.

So, after all that. I think Trump will lose this appeal. But will eventually prevail. Either under the Foreign enemies act or the next strategy on deck.

It may be harder to use Signal but they now admit that they were doing so. No one involved is contesting the validity of the Signal chat group.

Then, even worse than that, in my opinion, is one of the people in the group text had this notoriously left leaning reporter contact information for some reason.

If I were Trump, I’d be more concerned with who on that team communicates with the Atlantic democrat operative than about the one time mistake.

I would need a solid explanation of why they have his contact info and why it so easily got put into a post by mistake. that tells me someone is communicating with him. Leaking.

My point is, I’m sure no one intended to add him to that thread, but obviously somebody has been communicating with him and mistakingly pulled his contact info into the message

so they probably were just communicating with him on the same day

Anyone in the military would immediately lose their clearance and then would most likely be disciplined and or discharged. Hillary Clinton should’ve been prosecuted when she did it and so should whoever did it in this case.

People on both sides of politics often have the view race in for of reporters they vehemently disagree with. It can be useful in many ways. It would be malpractice not to.

I'm equally bothered as to why this journalist didn't make it known to the group that he was included obviously in error at the start.
I can't count the times I've been added to the wrong email chain and I find my name which is already a bit rarer, but I always make it known to the sender to remove me immediately.

I can only assume he knew it would be a news worthy bite and stayed on only furthering the already egregious security breach and sharing this classified information action to others.
