My personal faith in the Universities went out the window when they gave 4 year Diplomas to people that couldn't read!

Dexter Manly, James Brooks, Kevin Ross and dozens of other University graduates were functionally illiterate. Don't fool yourself into thinking it's just athletes.

Not 100% sure James Brooks ever graduated, if we’re talking about the same James Brooks. But your point is well taken. In the early 80’s the NCAA started to take academics a little more seriously.

I don’t know if it’s true, because we all know a guy. The one I know was an attorney at the FBI, young, maybe fresh out of law school. Tasked with redacting information related to the JFK files claimed that he and others spent 12hrs a day in a windowless room with black markers. After hour 8 or 9, after staring at legal documents, etc., the redactions became random and sometimes with little reason supporting them. Kind of believable, really.

I am very biased but yes it is.

That one river I like has no commercial guiding on it, and the upper half is too small for locals to get a jet up. 32 miles... the mountains on either side... endless great gravel bars to camp on... and hordes of legit 20-22 inch grayling, in addition to salmon (after July) and Dollies. And a fair amount of bears and moose. It is, IMHO, a beautiful slice of Alaska.

But I digress: that's not a very political post.

Quite a few bears and some can get quite big. Kind of a “sleeper” area for good bears. We will definitely have to put a fishing trip together with @WAB sometime.

I just put forward information to show that the CIA lies to the President and Congress and has been since its creation. So my original point is that to believe we have all the related information on JFK, because they say they released the files is laughable.

Pick up is usually on the Togiak via float plane.

Never been on that tributary but have been on a couple similar north of there just across the Kilbucks. Judging by the topo map looks too small, braided and flat on lower end for jets. That’s a good thing as it regulates pressure and maintains quality.

Float only waters with stretches requiring dragging (“lining”) with small inflatables does tend to self-regulate over-use. Those type waters with good fishing are not as common as one would imagine.

A real WTH wake up call happens when floating a remote, small stream then have an airboat come roaring by! Had it happen a long time ago.

Another category of my favorite small fishing water is walk-in only with no way to float A to B. Fly in then go on foot. Pic of one of those… also in SW AK.

I am not sure what you are referring to with respect to this allegation. No Tittle IX appeal has reached the Supreme Court yet concerning Trump's EO's in that regard. The only ruling that did occur of which I am aware with respect to Title IX was in August of 24 when Roberts and Barret joined in a 5/4 ruling (to which Sotomayor dissented) to deny an emergency request from the Biden administration to partially lift injunctions blocking its 2024 Title IX rule. That ruling essentially allowed the Biden initiative to continue to work is way through the courts.

Barret has proven to be a fairly reliable conservative (she voted to overturn Roe v Wade), but also one who clearly believes in judicial regular order. I am not sure that is a bad thing. Roberts, as Chief Justice, has clearly seen his role as a consensus builder whenever possible.

As I said. The wonderful nature of a conspiracy theory is that it is immune to any and all evidence to the contrary.

I suspect they will withstand challenges. Any attempt to revoke them will be aggressively appealed, and it is unlikely that any court through SCOTUS will be eager to dilute in any form the President's absolute right to issue pardons and commutations.

Lots of speculation with the talking heads late last night on this....most seem to feel the pardons won't get challenged at the end of the day, not a battle that is worth fighting at this point was the consensus. Still interesting as I think the pardon thing has gone way overboard, both sides of the isle IMO.
