Even shorter. I spent the day today going through broiler operations in Mississippi. The Tyson birds go to slaughter at forty days, incredible! I was impressed with the biocontrol procedures and again, the operations are far enough apart that transmission between houses would be difficult, and transmission between farms unlikely.
A lot of people talk about lab grown meat. Chicken and hogs a darn close to being that. I even notice now that bread takes awhile to mold. I wonder what they did to stop that. Milk also takes longer to sour.

As a Canadian im just on the outside looking in but I do have a question. If Elon musk is firing department after department in Americas government in the name of routing out corruption whats to keep him from being corrupt ?

Quite a few truly great Americans who care more deeply for our nation than the majority of people I know. If any one here honestly believes the FBI is a swamp and all the Special Agents are working against America I question not only your judgement but motives for our nation.

All of the FBI agents I know or have known are quality people. I'm sure they do a good job in their chosen profession.

That said, many of us who are excited about the Patel confirmation remember back to the dark days of the FBI leadership from 2016 onward. Regarding Russia Gate only, the following FBI members need investigated thoroughly. James Comey, Andrew McCabe, James Baker, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Michael Gaeta, Trisha Anderson, Jonathon Moffa, Bill Priestap, and Joseph Pientka. If that happens the DOJ will probably charge all of them. They took information provided by the Clinton campaign that they knew was not true and built a case with like minded members of DOJ, DOS, CIA, DOD, members of Congress and even GCHQ to take down a setting President.

There is probably not a reason to have as high a staffing at the FBI headquarters. Patel has said he will have a small HQ presence and push agents back to the field offices to do actual work. Many HQ positions will be eliminated.

I also doubt the DEI hires within the FBI over the past four years have resulted in the highest level of agents that could have been obtained in a normal hiring process.

Patel has been the target of FBI weaponization. I would imagine he has a good idea on where he will start and what he will do. Whoever Patel determines should be gone and the level of staffing he needs is good with me.

There’s never any guarantees… but Musk IMO is about as corruption proofed as anyone can be…

What’s going to motivate the corruption?

He’s already the wealthiest man on earth… he doesn’t need the money..

He’s already one of the most recognizable people on the planet… he doesn’t need the fame…

He’s already one of the most powerful and influential people on the planet… there’s not much more power or influence for him to obtain..

Near as I can tell Elon Musk nor DOGE has fired anyone. They don't have the power to do so, they're acting as an outside auditor and making recommendations to the President who then makes the decision.

As far as Elon being corrupt, I'm not sure one of the richest people on the planet has anything to gain say in comparison to a lifelong congressman such as Nancy Pelosi.

Edit: Just had to beat me to it didn't you @mdwest! :-)

I hope you’re right. He has always been seen as a complete clown. Maybe he turned over a new leaf.

One could of made the same arguments from most of the popes in the Middle Ages history shows us they weren’t incorruptible. Science seems to be Elon musks religion so the question becomes what would he be willing to do to advance it. Only time will tell the answer.

I'm seeing reports now that Trump may fire the postal board of governors and put the postal service under the commerce department. I think it might be the end of it. UPS couldn't show a profit either if they had to have an office in every small town in America

Read the biography on him. Very interesting individual. I believe it’s high functioning Asperger’s. I’m not sure he has the capability to lie. We aren’t allowed to say that we have experience with such things here without some
passive swipe or rebuke so I’ll leave it at that.

Are they supposed to show a profit or provide a service?

A good example where a firm fixed price contract is a disaster for the government and for the supplier who in this case is acting as a lead systems integrator of a host of different technologies from numerous subs and agencies.

I’m not sure he has the capability to lie.

His entire being is a lie: A false self made man and rags-to-riches story, a false founder story (Paypal), and in the early days of the SpaceX venture he had a penchant for interviews with technical drawings up on screen to play pretend as if he was actively contributing to the design of the parts.

Normally wouldn't be dragged in to comment, but this one is just galling.

Everything Musk does is calculated theatre and playing pretend. He's the worst kind of habitual liar.

Some industries are gone forever (furniture, textile) unless bespoke. Below is a picture of the living room and dining room of a vacation condo I have overseas. I gave a custom furniture shop the Restoration Hardware catalog, showed what I wanted (all down filled), and they went to town. They created the mock-up of the down filled chair in two days, we sat on it and said raise it an inch. I went to the lumber yard and picked the lumber for the dining room table.

Every piece of furniture you see there cost me about $15K in total. You are looking at tens of thousands from Restoration Hardware in the USA and not sure it is even produced here. I furnished a 10K sq. foot condo completely for about $35K.

They are working on more furniture for me, and it will be sent via container to here.

They even made the trolley on the bottom right of the pic so food can be delivered from the kitchen to the dining room.

was that a local (to the condo) furniture maker? Or did you have it imported from somewhere else?

I don't think that that is necessarily true. Just because a person already have a lot, doesn't mean s/he don't want more. It could be more money, more influence or whatever. Even if it's not really 'needed' it for any personal actual need. It could be that the factors/personality traits that led to the initial success are defining this behaviour.

After all, Putin is the ruler of the largest country in the world, why would he need more land? He could use his position help further his nation and make life better for its citizens. But instead of that, he starts various conflicts with his neighbours in order to prove dominance. At heart he is a scheming spy/mobster on a power trip, and that didn't stop when he got to be the ruler of Russia.

And I'll deviate a little from my previous statement about not commenting on internal US politics, with this question: Isn't SpaceX already the receiver of a huge amount of American tax dollars, and is it not problematic that the advertised DOD cuts could be part of a move towards a new StarWars/drones/satellite based defense. In that scenario, I foresee a future in which even more money (a lot more) could be going Musk's way.

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary
