75million MWh of electrical power per day? Or you mean general energy, including gas and oil?

As a reference, in electricity, 75TWh would be about the yearly consumption of electricity of Belgium, each day… seems high

Well, it looks like my worst fears of a Trump presidency may be realized. We appear to be on the verge of forcing Zelensky out and installing a Russian puppet in Kiev. It is difficult to believe that we can be this naive.

C'mon man...

But it is a playground of sorts... This site is for entertainment, and not to be taken seriously... I hate to break it to you, but we are not solving the world's problems with these discussions...

Should this happen, it will be the greatest betrayal since the West allowed the dismemberment of Czechoslovakia in 1938.

Im looking through my daily news feed for anything that references Zelensky being out, but don't see anything other than he wont accept any outcomes of US/Russia discussions in Saudi if he isn't present..

Can you provide a link, or explain what you're referring?

This is turned upside down...the AfD people and lately your government try to market whats happening as a violation of free speech. What they call sharing ideas is breaking german law, ie german laws against hate speech.

So, let me spell it out for you, this is a matter of breaking german hate speech law. If you do not like german law, fine.. But its not violating free speech.

When German law gives more jail time for calling a convicted rapist a pig, than they give the convicted rapist; then yes I will say the German speech laws are out of control.

Hamburg Germany - A 15yo girl is drinking in the park with friends, she leaves her friends to go to the toilet and gets separated from her friends and lost; she is then attacked and raped by a "migrant" who then proceeds to contact other migrants via whatsapp and invite them to the park. All told this 15yo girl was raped by 9 "migrants" that evening.

After the trial where a female judge gave no jailtime to any of the convicted rapists who used such brilliant legal defenses as "Yes I raped her, what man wouldn't want that?".

Later a 20yo nursing student sent the first rapist a text message calling him a PIG - and because of German speech laws, calling the "migrant" a pig was an insult to his Islamic faith and therefore a HATECRIME, so the 20yo German female was sent to jail for the weekend for hate speech......

9 Convicted rapist = NO JAIL TIME!

It’s the Fox report on the Saudi negotiations. They appear to be negotiating to force elections in Ukraine that they are confident will result in a presidential incline to make concessions to Russia in a peace deal.

I don’t understand how we can engage in this discussion with Russia. It seems that we are setting ourselves up to support Russian while Europe stands behind Ukraine.

Grow a thick skin. We don’t want Canada as a State. You have some of the same crappy people ruining your country as we have over here. Down here we call it California and New York, up there you call it Toronto and Vancouver.

When Trump says 51st State it’s the ultimate insult to your current unelected leader. His inference is that he should be a governor. That’s the insult.

You left out Montreal.

Years ago, when Quebec was trying to leave Canada, the word was everything east of Quebec would have to join the USA as they did not have economy to stand on their own. Now, Trump takes a shot at little Fidel and Canada is in an uproar over being called the 51st state. Kind of humorous considering the same groups that are upset are the same ones that can’t stand little Fidel.

The Russians seem to be demanding new elections as a pre-condition. I would not be entirely surprised if Trump might not like it as well. That obstinate Zelensky fellow seems determined to demand actual independence for his country and return to at least the 2022 borders.

I'd be happy to take Alberta off their hands if they don't want it. Eastern Oregon would be happy to become the 51st State with them. But under no circumstances would I agree to take all of Canada.

I'd rather we trade: They get WA, OR, and CA, we get the maritimes, MA, AB, SK. They keep Trudeau. Heck, I think we'd even give them Detroit and the big-3 auto industry too. No interest in those products or that city either.

Shit...

I have the fox report.. hadn't opened it yet, and since the headline didn't lead with anything about elections.. I missed it..

thanks!

Back where am from we in the hotel business and my brother was talking to someone who managed a chain hotel on the mainland ie England...he told my brother that the company had done a contract to house the illegals ....he said the government in the contract has to restore the hotel to its original condition at the end of the contract...so they don't do any cleaning or maintenance...provide same food day in day out , and are supplied with cell phones and laptops to provide each illegal.....he said the hotel chain is making big money for basically doing nothing....

It's a huge racket for inn keepers around the world; they dramatically increase the occupancy rate and also increase the prices substantially - then arrange long term government contracts.

Just look at the Roosevelt Hotel in NYC - 1,025 rooms and the U.S.A. tax payers are paying $600 per room per night; so that hotel is receiving $615,000 PER DAY or $18.5mil per month/$220mil per year.

On top of that, the Roosevelt Hotel is owned by Pakistan.

Evidently the hotel was close to foreclosure owing around 1B. This effectively bailed them out.

It seems there are oil guys here.

My rookie oil industry analysis is that here in the US, our product is good for making gasoline but we need Venezuela, Russia, or Canada products (sour crude?) to make diesel. Saudi makes light sweet crude if that's the proper terminology?

If we get permanently sideways with Canada oil, do we produce gas and LNG and get a price increase to import diesel? Where does this appear to go?

There are three broad categories of refinery; topping, cracking and coking. Topping refineries are the least complex and largely gone. There are two small ones still operating in Alaska I believe.

Cracking refineries can run heavy or
Light crude depending on their metallurgy. However, they have no resid conversion capability so when they run heavy sour they have to make a lot of residues or asphalt.

Coking refineries are the most complex, expensive and profitable. These are designed for heavy sour crudes and have the ability to convert residues/asphalt into crude.

Heavy sour crudes processed in the US are typically from Canada and Venezuela, although some heavier middle eastern crudes do find their way here.

Two of our most important heavy crude refineries are in Wood River, IL and Pine Bend, MN. Wood River takes heavy sour from Venezuela and Canada. Pine Bend processes primarily Canadian crude.

If Canadian crude went overland to the West Coast, these refineries would have a serious problem. They are not configured to profitably run WTI or other lighter crudes. They are also not in the best spot to receive these crudes. What you end up with is a local fuel shortage that has to be made up with pipeline shipments.

Refined products are a global commodity priced by transport from clearing hubs. Our clearing hubs are New York Harbor, Houston, and LA. The major hub this would impact is Houston. It would likely go up relative to the other hubs and the pipeline tariffs would set the price from Houston into the midcontinent. Your guess is as good as mine on what these tariffs might do. They won’t go down.

Imagine running a business where your annual budget had to be approved by a group of people who don’t know much about the operation of your business and about 20% of whom are new every two years.
also,
imagine running a business that when the end of year came, and because of timing, luck or careful management you had an excess of funds (saved and not spent all of your budget) that your were required to spend the remainder of your budget money, so you would not lose any money in next years budget!

this happened to me multiple times in the military when i was in charge of a maintenance shop and then later in charge of 3 of them. infuriating. forced to spend (in my mind WASTE) money so that next year you got the same or a larger budget.

It’s a real shame WAB you don’t know anything about crude pricing this would of sounded awfully smart from an oil expert

I don’t understand how we can engage in this discussion with Russia. It seems that we are setting ourselves up to support Russian while Europe stands behind Ukraine.

It seems to me that is exactly what Rubio and Kellogg are doing and why they are meeting without Zelensky. The US and Russia look to establish a relationship for the first time in 80 years. Something Trump wanted to do eight years ago but was forced not to pursue due to Russia Gate.

Some of the points could be the US drops sanctions against Russia and normalizes the relationship allowing Russia back into the G8. The construction of the new NATO base in Romania stops and Ukraine will not join NATO. Russia has to offer a reasonable treaty to Ukraine and start pulling back from it's new relationship with China, further isolating China.

Zelensky and Ukraine are free to accept/negotiate the treaty or continue the war without US support and Europe is free to do what they want.

I don't know if this is what is happening but it seems the logical reason why Zelensky is not involved in the first round of talks. The second round of talks with America, Russia and Ukraine deals with a treaty.
