I am pulling for the latter. I am forced to admit LED's are saving me a huge amount of time and expense.
Agreed on the LED lights, but I'm staying course on the shower heads and wish to add high flow toilets to the freedom schedule!

In other news the Department of Education audit seems to be having continued affect ....

Last week the University that I work for had the President of the University abruptly resign after only 4 years on the job; today I get an email that the "Director of Grants & Contracts Financial Administration" has suddenly decided to retire after 29 years.....

Yup. Get out before you get caught.

I still believe this should be run through an appointed cabinet position. And sent to Congress to pull the funds to remove this phony argument

The POTUS has a pretty wide birth when it comes to executive power in regard to who he can appoint as special advisors tasked to do any number of special projects... The Constitution provides Congress with the power of the purse, but it says nothing directly about the POTUS' limitations when it comes to NOT spending money... Article II of the United States Constitution vests the President with the sole and exclusive authority over the executive branch, including the authority to manage the Federal workforce to ensure effective execution of Federal law. It's my assumption that the SCOTUS will ultimately decide on the Constitutionality of some of these EO's... Obviously, Trump is not waiting for permission from Congress or anyone else to act on many of his top agenda items...

Furthermore, consider the source of the "argument"... The only individuals showing outrage are a handful of the loudest, usual suspects within the democratic party... If it were not for the MSM continuing to provide a platform for these lunatics, nobody would even notice their theatrics... They have yet to realize that the American people have had enough of their bullshit, and they aren't listening any longer... The polling shows the vast majority of the American people, north of 70%, approve of the work that DOGE is conducting... I'm not sure who comprises the other 30%, but it must be democrat politicians and federal workers...

The fact that these idiots have learned nothing from the election, and continue to double-down on the stupidity and tone-deafness that lost them the election in the first place never ceases to amaze me... It's very satisfying to watch the most seasoned politicians and propogandists flail aimlessly when they find themselves powerless... I'm enjoying every minute of watching the Maxine Waters, and Chuck Shumers stand outside a government building like the ass-hats that they are, being denied entry by a DOGE security guard... The crazier they get, the better the midterms will look for the republicans...

Oklahoma State University's president and another administrator resigned abruptly last week as well. There are plenty of rumors but no hard facts reported yet.

The entire grant system of all universities needs overhauled. When up to 60% of a grant goes to administrative costs something is wrong. When professors teach one class per year and the rest of their time is supposedly spent on research something is wrong. When a university and government grants fund a professor to research and write a paper on the sexual habits and reproductivity of urban squirrels in a post covid world and how it is affected by climate change, something is wrong. When students end up with $100k of student debt to underwrite all of the above, something is wrong.

I think that one thing that gets lost in all of the DOGE debate is that they have absolutely no authority to cut anything. They make recommendations to the executive branch and they make the actual cuts.
Instead of agencies going out and making arguments to justify their being they go and act like children who’s lollipop was stolen at the fair.

I see so many post about the states handling more things instead of the federal government. Wouldn't it be true that the more power the states get the more we resemble the European Union. I think if we make Canada the 51 state Isreal should become the 52. There getting a lot of money from us.

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

That didn't take long. Guess it happened before I even posted.

Regarding showers that don’t. I travelled with a small work crew to an island off the coast of Maine every other week for 6 months. Only one small “motel” for lodging. The first night, I’m getting a shitload of complaints from the guys that the “showers suck”. Adjustable wrench removed shower head. Phillips head screwdriver removed water saver washer. 3/8” drill bores out fitting. Quick reassembly and I’m the hero. Replaced water saver washer until next visit. A bit harder to “fix” a modern dishwasher.

Taking America back will be a long process. But it has begun. Two friends that are die hard libs were at the Veteran's Breakfast today. In the midst of their complaints I told them that they should walk the walk......you can still send checks to the Dept of Education and to USAID.....show that YOU mean it! Just don't ask ME to be part of it. I think democrats everywhere should be reminded that they can still send money to any organization that they champion. That usually shuts them up.......FWB

Hegseth travels to Europe on a military transport and works out of an office container ratcheted to the plane. He then gets up and does PT with the troops. Wonder when the last time a SecDef did the same. It certainly wasn't Austin. I knew nothing about Hegseth prior to his nomination. So far he seems to be making the right moves. Even if it is only for publicity photos, which I'm not sure it is.

He pumps iron pretty good for a raging alcoholic in his mid 40s. Oh wait, was that not completely accurate? Funny how confirmation gauntlets only go to the right.

I see plenty of confirmation gauntlets that go to the left. Not so much on AH however.

"President Donald Trump said Monday he is banning federal use of paper straws, saying they “don’t work” and don’t last very long. Instead he wants the government to exclusively move to plastic."

I think he likes his plastic straw while drinking diet coke and eating big Mac. :)
I don’t use straws but if I was gay it would be a paper straw, a quick search of the internet provides indisputable evidence of the slippery slope our government had us on. Years ago a friend had bought a round of Margaritas at a Mexican restaurant, the drinks came with paper straws. I finished the drink and was contemplating ordering a Cosmopolitan, I came to my senses went home, took a few shots of bourbon and read a hunting magazine. I remember waking up the next morning and realizing I had dodge a bullet, paper straws, that’s some scary stuff.

Love to hear this and glad they are looking into it. My guess is Musk is talking about Samantha Power. She is one of around ten people that have been around since the Obama administration that need to be reviewed closely. There is a reason Democrats in Congress are blowing a fuse.

Absolutely true. Which, for this historical moment at least, is a forbidden position to hold. The elephant in the room has always been why were those tens of thousands of young Southern yeoman farmers who owned no slaves willing to give their lives for the Confederacy.

Yes, another eye opener was reading Lincoln’s “Changing views on slavery”

Most people don’t realize that Lincoln wanted to free the slaves, so that he could deport them to either South America or Africa; so the concept of what would later be Liberia originated with him.
