Politics

I tell you fellas, I'm totally crestfallen to see this.

None of this stuff is mandated by the constitution as far as I can tell so let it fall on the ash-heap of history. On the other hand I don't think the constitution precludes congress from creating abominations like this either.

So Trump can't outright abolish USAID but telling the workers to go home and transferring the building is diabolical. I hope what he's done survives the court challenges. At least it's being exposed and we're not wasting as many $ while it all plays out. I'd actually like to see congress try and defend it at this point [edit: as it would be amusing to watch].

Douglas MacArthur was fired by a different president in a different war. Following WWII he almost single handedly resurrectied Japan as a democratic state and ally. He then was commander of UN forces in Korea where he executed the brilliant Inchon landings. He was subsequently relieved by Truman.

Truman it was ,korea it was and I was thinking of, I stand corrected , my 72 year old mind !

Hegseth travels to Europe on a military transport and works out of an office container ratcheted to the plane. He then gets up and does PT with the troops. Wonder when the last time a SecDef did the same. It certainly wasn't Austin. I knew nothing about Hegseth prior to his nomination. So far he seems to be making the right moves. Even if it is only for publicity photos, which I'm not sure it is.

"President Donald Trump said Monday he is banning federal use of paper straws, saying they “don’t work” and don’t last very long. Instead he wants the government to exclusively move to plastic."

I think he likes his plastic straw while drinking diet coke and eating big Mac. :)

You know, we wouldn’t have to waste our time on stupid shit like this if Democrats HADN’T WASTED OUR TIME ON STUPID SHIT LIKE THIS. Some of the crap we’ll have to deal with should have never been an issue in a sane world.

Next thing you know we will have incandescent light bulbs and shower heads that spray like a firehose back. :ROFLMAO:

It’s strange that politics have become its own profession. And a citizen going to do service for the country then return home to his trade is seen as odd or unique.

Musk has no rights to see behind the curtain.
I would argue. Every single one of us have that right. Elected or unelected.

The phony argument that the DOGE employees may see personal information is a pretty weak argument. As if trusting the past employees makes us feel safe.

Musk does not need to or have the luxury of time to examine our personal data. He is looking for exactly where the money is going and who is approving it.

If his team wanted any of our personal information he could get it on his own.

But !

I still believe this should be run through an appointed cabinet position. And sent to Congress to pull the funds to remove this phony argument

Per the judge, Scott Bessenet the confirmed Secretary of the Treasury can't see the Treasury's books but dozens of non government contractors still have access.

He should. Paper straws are complete trash.

I run into them enough in CA. Nothing like having soggy cardboard in your mouth halfway through a meal.

One could make a strong argument that the curtain itself is unconstitutional bb

I am pulling for the latter. I am forced to admit LED's are saving me a huge amount of time and expense.

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
