Sadly, I remember that attack, and a couple of others involving a box delivery truck, bus, van, seems there was also a semi truck and trailer(?) used.

Just proves what I and a lot of others have stated, guns are not the problem. Banning guns will only result in more devastating ways idiots will kill law bidding citizens. Criminals and terrorists don't care about gun laws and bans leaving defenseless law bidding citizens to be there victims as law enforcement fear and cater to criminals, and can only intimidate law bidding citizens.

The Government “shut down” is delayed until March 14th. Trump muscles through a very skinny bill with funding for FEMA. This shows these bills can get through without thousands of pork spending projects thrown in to buy votes.

This is a big win. It gives Trump a little breathing room for his first 60 days agenda. Also he should have more negotiating power with both chambers.

Biden is planning to sign Trumps bill today. Pretty disturbing that our current president is so checked out that Trump had to push from outside the walls to avoid a shutdown during Bidens term. But Trump needs the docket clear to get things done in January, so had no choice but to help Biden.

I didn't ask if she qualified. Yes she was convicted of insurance fraud. I can read. Still probably safe to say she was responsible for the murders.

I was doing research on semi-autos a couple of weeks ago in preparation for a handgun class and came across this bit of information...



AR-15's were first made available to the public in 1963. (I actually wrote my first check (#101) for brand new one in 1978).

An AR (style rifle) was not used in a "mass shooting" until 2007.



So 44 years of availability, until a lunatic got their hands on one to do something atrocious.

Hitler was Nazist - all that was said, about fascist, plus rasizm. He "exported" beliefs to his country men, and other countries - with military means. (actually with all means available)
Mussolini was fascist.

In communism, there is no privatized industry.
In socialism, private business is allowed, to some level, but not on strategic level - for example one can have private bakery, but cannot own national oil company.

A little perspective on the war in Ukraine and how Russia is purportedly so successful in its latest offensive.

Commentators, even those with some minimal understanding of warfare, tend to focus on trees. Amateur enthusiasts who looked up a quote from Sun Tzu but do not own a copy of the "Art of War" or Clausewitz's "On War" (much less read them) are even less informed.

Individual trees are of interest to tacticians. The forest is of interest to strategists. The current belief among most American populists (and Elon Musk) along with the European right is that Ukraine can not prevail and is being defeated in the current Russian offensive - an offensive in which the Russians are losing 1500 men a day and for which they are resorting to Cold War era tanks, ever more limited stockpiles of artillery and munitions, and ever more boring threats. Oh yes, they have also gone hat in hand to North Korea for more bodies to throw into the cauldron. It is also an offensive grinding to a halt as General winter takes over the steppes.

For a look at the forest, the attached two maps are of some interest. The first is of Ukrainian territory occupied Dec 2022 and the second is of that occupied Dec 2024. To observe Russian successes, I would suggest the use of a magnifying glass.

Ukraine has fought a major power to an absolute standstill. Yet, the American isolationists and European right can not wait to reward Russia with a victory it can not achieve on its own. No matter I suppose. As a result, we can be assured of having a more desperate opportunity in the future.
