Politics

Of one thing I am certain, the longer we play this RINO nonsense and hold purity tests, the less likely we are to become a majority party again. As Reagan famously put it, "The person who agrees with you 80 percent of the time is a friend and an ally - not a 20 percent traitor."

This has been my pet peeve of those on the far right that keep putting forth candidates that pass these purity tests through the primaries in swing districts or swing States. They end up getting 0% of everything rather than 80% of something. AZ Senate race is a clear example of that among others in the past.

The political divide in this country will continue to widen until war is inevitable.

Frankly I’m surprised it hasn’t happened sooner. Our two sides are polar opposites. Frankly I think this country has had it’s heyday and it’s all going to get worse from here on out.

Frankly I don’t care.

I'm happy you're happy.

The only way is to educate the Marxists before they become true to the faith (and it is a Religion) Marxists.

One cannot be a Socialist or a Communist if they 1. Understand economics.
2. Are a basicly an honest person.

Tough to find a Marxist that has both those characteristics. I don't spend enough time observing them, but I think OAC suffers the first but could possibly meet the criteria of the second. I doubt the rest of the squad can.

We MUST change the education system to stop indoctrination of our children.... it may be too late.
I'm afraid we may be too late to change our education system......perhaps I'm wrong but that would require a significant change in enough Americans' thought process....and not much critical thinking being taught or encouraged in this day. Politics used to refer to how Americans "viewed" the process of basically achieving the same overall goals of the country....the "how do we get there" in my opinion. But now seemingly 1/2 of us disagree on the values and goals for the country. Then we come back to Brent's point.....what now? If 1/2 of us cannot come to agreement on what basic values and beliefs we have as a country.......do we still have a country comprised of Americans with a set of shared values? It will take a leader with a scope of persuasion beyond what I've seen to lead this kind of change. I think many people like myself (peasants with pitch forks outside the castle) have reached a total level of "fed up" with lack of accountability...I am surprised we have not seen a level of "vigilante justice"..........which I'm not advocating anymore than civil war but we cannot discount the possibility of this starting....people will only take so much.

Trump looks like someone just stole his lollipop..... :E Shrug:
Nah, we've all just been fighting gravity too long, and an unsmiling face is the first place to show it. Smile more Trump--it will help your image!

I find it interesting and worthy of some thought that the two groups most loudly proclaiming we should burn it all down are ANTIFA and angry old white guys.

My father, who was a well respected historian (as a child, I would sit at the supper table and listen to him and Steve Ambrose debate current and past issues) said that there really wasn't a left and right. Political activism was actually a circle and the farther one went in either extreme, the closer they became. I think there was a lot of truth in that observation. From a victim's perspective how does one choose between a Hitler or a Stalin. One also could find a few receipts in this discussion.

I wonder if it is a similar thought process with the mass shooters. Feel so hopeless and helpless that the only way to get control back is to go out in a blaze of glory (in their mind).

It is important to remember that Hezbollah is composed of Shia Muslim Arabs and is a tool of the Iranians who are Shia and perhaps most importantly, Persian and not Arab at all. I can guarantee there is equal, if quieter, satisfaction in the halls of power throughout the Sunni dominated capitals of the Middle East.

^^^ Spot on ^^^

I’m guessing MBS is celebrating in Riyadh…

As are most gulf state Arabs…

Although I wouldn't classify Reagan as a populist per se', he certainly entertained some populist ideologies that were previously non-existent in the republican party. Because of this, Reagan is responsible, in part, for trying to expand the republican party to average Americans outside of the country clubs. I truly wish he would have done more to concentrate on appealing to the working class directly. Had he started the populist movement then, when might not be in the predicament we are in now...

I am curious when you refer to the purists, who specifically are you talking about?
Reagan also called the USSR the evil empire and did everything he could to bring it down. We need to treat Russia in the same manner, not admire their mafia leader.

We have a constitutional republic. If its current policies do not suit your personal fancy, do something about it. Affect change in the ballot box. If you can't, then perhaps it is time to reevaluate those beliefs and priorities.
I would respectfully suggest affecting change in the ballot box gets a bit futile. To have any chance one needs to work very hard to effect any change ahead of the actual voting. In fact there are several Gentlemen on this board who should offer their services and run for office. School Board, City council, County boards, State Representatives. Or even for a trip to the Swamp and I'm not talking about Buffalo hunting in the delta;)

A tradesmen working at our house and whom @Just Gina and I have become quite fond had a son sent home for wearing a Trump T Shirt... While other students regularly wear Harris shirts. Our friend and his wife stood up to the school. They called every TV station around to tell their story and were turned down. Finally they found one that suggested they use their name with the school. They did and got apologies and their son proudly went back to school wearing his bright red Trump 2024 shirt!

I suggested to our friend he or his wife run for school board. He replied he was on a school board previously in a different local. And just may run!

I think that is a much better way to affect change than simply putting your ballot into the box:) Especially if you plan to skip voting for POTUS.

We are admittedly not doing much ourselves. We have 4 banners up on our main highway frontage. Post a few things on the local fb page, stand up publicly and privately for Conservative values and candidates when we have the opportunity. Contribute portions of our wealth to Candidates of our choice.

And Joe my main personal goal this election cycle is to get you to a point that you can cast your vote for Trump. Gina has already purchased a nose clip for you.;) You admitted today that Trump seemed more Presidential in his meeting with Zelinsky. And we have 36 days to work on this!

Unless they just flat cheat again.
Yes, the Dems will cheat again in this election but this time there is enough discussion about their cheating that folks are aware of it. Couple this with the focus by the RNC to significantly grow voter registrations and their efforts to encourage people to vote early and encourage their friends to vote the hope is it will overcome the cheating. So far the indications are that republicans are doing a lot more early voting than they have in the past.

I agree no civil war.....worse case scenario. Common goals....therein lies the problem. My values....my beliefs...my love for this country....totally opposite from a great number of people in this country.....and I mean way off! Don't know if the potential leader exists that can unite people with completely different values. For example, how do you unite an American and a Marxist....one has to change their beliefs, values, and goals......and I refuse to. We might be reaching a point of no return in this country.
Completely agree. The divide is immense and we are diametrically opposed on just about everything. People think we were divided in 2016, it’s gotten far far worse. It’s pretty difficult to see a way out. People are fed up.

Hi Jon,
I saw your post for the .500 NE cases. Are these all brass or are they nickel plated? Hard for me to tell... sorry.
Thanks,
