Bork and Thomas were not even new lows for the party that fought to keep Jim Crow, segregation, were against civil rights legislation,

Ruined minorities families with welfare. They never held the morale high ground and still do not.

But what they do well is deflect and somehow are able to pin on the opposition exactly what they actually do.

I'm not a huge fan of it myself. It's going to result in honest-to-God violence and bloodshed at some point. There are only 2 ways to deal with each other: persuasion or violence; logic, or the barrel of a gun. When persuasion and logic are off the table, the other party hasn't any recourse. The people weary of rhetoric, and they'll start thirsting for blood.

What is particularly troubling is that the left feels exactly the same way. Nothing good can come when both sides feel as if their backs are up against the wall.
