But Robert Francis doesn't want to win- If he won he would have a job at the elected office. People would expect him to do SOMETHING. By losing he can move on to campaigning for the next election and supporting a highlife style from campaign funds from donors that hope he'll win in order to pay then back.

I dont know what 'steal a march means',, cheating perhaps? Distasteful? Surely. Like losing forever?
Of course not, but prefer to win without cheating.
Democrats have no problem cheating, they are masters at it.
Stealing a march means getting in first. No, I am not suggesting cheating, just taking advantage of every legal avenue afforded in the various states. They changed the rules, so why cant the Republicans work within those changed rules?

Exactly.

Kevin is spot on. GOP spent too much time complaining about mail in balloting instead of putting a ground game together to maximize getting those early votes.

I think it was Tucker Carlson who reported that Fetterman had 60 to 70% of his votes before his first debate.

We can form a winning strategy and still play by the rules.

The Republicans put up crap candidates. In PA, a stroke victim defeated Dr. Oz who had so much obnoxious baggage it was pathetic. It's like the GOP doesn't want to win.

Hopefully, the Republicans will be able to flip the House and have a slim majority there. If not, we’re screwed for the next two years. The Democrats will bankrupt this country with their reckless spending inducing inflation along with rising interest rates will continue.
I can’t stop pointing out that ever since Bush 43, it has not mattered who is in charge of the ‘purse strings’. Gigantic budget bills, stimulus bills, omnibus spending bills and debt increases, keep getting passed. The establishment Republicans never fight it. They make show statements claiming to fight. They pretend to fight. In the end, they ensure these bills pass. A very small minority of elected Republicans actually stand firm against this destruction.

Since Obama, nobody’s really cared about “a budget“ anymore. It’s these 4000 and 6000 page omnibus spending bills where the public never knows who gets the money. Keeping someone like McConnell in charge of the minority, guarantees it will be another two years of the same transfers of wealth to groups of people who want to see us destroyed. It sounds like science fiction but it’s true. The upside for them is astonishing family wealth that will see them keep their positions of influence during the eventual financial apocalypse.

At the National level for sure, Republican and Democrat politicians are just the opposite side of the same coin. And the reason they don’t abide by our instructions is because they are controlled by the 8500 wealthiest people in the world (approximate number), people that are untouchable. Our votes, at least at a national level, mean absolutely nothing, although we are meant to believe we have a say. We do not. I actually personally witnessed this power back in the mid-90’s in a meeting I attended with the President of a country and some Dutch bankers, though at the time I certainly wasn’t aware of that.

And Fetterman wasn’t a crap candidate? Republicans could’ve run a combined Senate group of the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers along with Jesus, Muhammad and Moses. Federman still would’ve won. It was baked in and predetermined.

You are in fact ‘living the dream’ if you don’t think ballot harvesting doesn’t play a major role.

The biggest problem with the Republicans right now is that they are dragging a dead horse with them to the polls.

I won't say that there wasn't problems in the 2020 election. Judges allowing mail in votes to come in weeks/months after the election is my big gripe. I have no problems with mail in voting, or drop boxes as quite a few do. It is going to become the norm and I like it. I can sit at home and go over just what and who I want to vote for. Fill out my ballot and drive to the nearest drop box and I am done. A couple of days later I get a email or text telling me that my ballot has been accepted.

Just a couple of things on how it is done here in Colorado. The drop boxes have 24 hour cameras on them. The ballots are picked up at the minimum 2 times a day. There are 2 people who pick up the ballots, one Republican and one Democrat, and if there is another major political party in the area you'll get one of them. They take the ballots into the County Clerks office where they are verified and secured, all the time under watchful eyes. The ballots need to be in the County Clerks office by end of election day. Not postmarked but by end of day. Any that come in late are just that late and are not counted. Then as for counting, they are not counted until election day even if they came in weeks ahead of time.

The Republicans wasted a fantastic election this year. There should of bee a red wave but they screwed it up starting 2 years ago. I can't believe that they actually thought that bitching about a closed election that they were going to accomplish anything other than to alienate the voters, which they did and it shows.

Agree this was a big deal. There are others.

The abortion thing was a factor. Serious factor.

Trashing other Republicans another. Working against the Senate Leader falls under this category. The Regan Rule was trashed yet again.

Trump inserting his unloved personality is another.

The GOP: How can we lose an election? Let us count the ways. Another GOP fiasco in PA, putting up a wealthy woman who shut down factories in the state and moved jobs to China. Unfortunately a lot of Republican candidates are just plain election fodder. In Pennsy, the sad part is 30% of registered Republican did not vote or voted for one of the fringe candidates..

that is one huge problem our party needs to fix.

I know it happens and is legal in some states. And we can all complain and vent about it but end of the day Fetterman is a Senator and the Dems are going to get 2 more years of judicial nominations.

Either we learn to play the game or just accept losing.

I read a Fox article yesterday how the DNC was successful in 4 races where they spent a sizable amount of money backing a candidate of lesser quality during the Republican primaries so the Democrat candidate would have an easier path during the general election. Republicans are being continuously politically outmaneuvered.

Like it or not, the GOP got it's lunch handed to them in this election. In my state, Delaware, they Dems even took long time Republican seats in the rural southern part of the state. In Pennsy, the majority GOP house is hanging on a thread.

Most of the people you talk to in Sussex County aren't from Sussex County. Sorta like the John Daly / Tiger Woods meme.

A good friend of mine wrote this:

There is quite a bit wrong with Trump and the form of his message but much of it has to do with the fact that the swamp highlights his antics and distorts the substance of his message.

If you all stop to think, you can’t honestly state you can quote something regarding policy that is poison to the nation. What you dislike is that he is boastful and childish with his name calling. So what. Put some dirt on the wound and move on. But the media will not let the nation move on. Why?

Because the media is owned by the multinational corporations that run this country. Make no mistake about that fact. McConnell is in power because he knows to be in line with democrats who are in line with big business and multinational corporations. They do NOT WANT TO MAKE WAR ON CHINA! They do not want to cut back on US international spending. They DO NOT WANT TO BRING PRODUCTION BACK TO THE US.

Trump is hated because he is standing up to multinationals. Biden is in power, despite being JUST AS CHILDISH (see how he attacks those who ask him tough questions - the NRA guy comes to mind), because he is giving the status quo a free pass and promises no war on China.

It is disgusting to see how everyone is manipulated. I watch and promise you this- Trump will be crushed and with him every one of our individual rights.

They aren't called the Stupid Party without reason.

The New York, Maryland liberal disease has infested Delaware to the point of no return. The state is the largest employer and Christiana Care medical system is the largest private employer. In other words, we've become a welfare state, both basically funded by taxpayers through taxes, medicare and medicaid expenditures.

There is a lot of angry reflection going on here, good, let it continue. The next phase should be collating all of the lessons learnt and getting messages into the right hands. But for sure, for certain, Republicans will continue to lose ground if they go into 2024 in the same tired old way. There is a winning strategy:
1. Make the most of Biden's inevitable fumbling between now and then.
2. Underline every policy blunder the Dems make in bright red.
3. Use the Congress to make small gains for the electorate, not useless mega unwinnable battles against the Democrats.
4. Adopt early voting and mail in voting.
5. Start the 2024 campaign a year in advance, especially in the 1% margin areas, there were so many of them.
6. Get Ron Desantis nominated.
7. Replace Ronna McDaniel.

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary
