Do you realize that the IRNA logo on the propaganda your gleefully spread shows its from the Islamic Republic News Agency ie the propaganda arm of Iran Government?

I realize my country just printed $40B they don't have.

I realize my country now has printed $30T they don't have and will never be able to pay back, thus saddling over $100,000 for every man woman and child in this country with debt.

I realize my children and grandchildren are stuck with this debt that can not be paid so their currency will debase throughout their lifetimes.

I realize my country shut down the primary baby formula plant in the country last fall and even though the company has taken all the compliance steps to get back in production, the government has been lazy and not allowed production to start as of last week.

I realize that Ukraine is run by a bunch of criminal oligarchs just like Russia.

I realize that Zelinsky had the information to completely blow up an impeachment on my President in 2020 and he chose not to share it.

I realize that Zelinsky had the information to confirm Hunter Biden and Joe Biden's corruption prior to the 2020 election and chose not to share it with the world.

I realize that I am condemning my country, not your country with the above post. Not sure what you are so upset about. An American makes a post about America and an Australian gets all pissy about it!?!?! What a world we live in.

I feel for the ordinary people of Ukraine, just as I feel for the ordinary people of Russia who have no control over what is going on. As to the leadership in both countries, they are both pathetic and corrupt. If the EU wants to deal with this then let them. If you Aussie's want involved then have at it.

I could barely read by the 30 TRILLION part! I'm trying to wrap my feeble brain around that. It WAS 24 TRILLION before Covid. China owes us 6 TRILLION, not to mention what it owes the other countries of the world with the destruction of their economies by hiding the origination of Covid in their country and allowing it to spread throughout the world. I'm with Trump on this one. Time for the countries who owe China money to cancel their debts to China, proportionate to the extent their economies were destroyed by Covid.

Remember the decades the biological representatives of children, parents are different, protected their offspring while they terrorized their classrooms and restricted the teachers and principals from disciplining them? It seems they applied the same to teaching social skills.
This is why it is good that people do not remember history or how things got where they are. If they did they would have to own up to their own failings.

You and I agree on most things, but we will have to disagree with respect to Ukraine and the curbing of Russian expansionist ambitions. I have little good to say about this administration, but I am thankful most in my party are supportive of its actions with respect to Putin. I also have some understanding for a fairly new president of a country caught between Russian threats and a cautious Europe having no desire whatsoever to become embroiled in US domestic politics.

You and I have no argument with respect to out of control domestic spending by this administration, or its wanton mishandling of our southern border. Its coddling of socialist nut cases, anarchists, and environmental utopians is the stuff that will hopefully create a red tsunami in November (assuming my party doesn't tear itself apart). But 40 billion to support Ukraine's effort to defend itself from a Russian invasion seems like pennies on the dollar compared to dealing with a revitalized Russian super state on the European continent.

And before we get too critical of the power of oligarchs in Ukraine, we probably ought to come up with a broadly acceptable term to apply to the Bezos, Musk, Arnault, Gates, Buffet, Page et al fraternity and their outsized political influence in the West.

We do agree on most things. In fact we probably agree on well over 95% of the topics that comes up in this forum. It is always good to hear your opinions and to have you as a sounding board. You have an area of expertise in some areas that far surpasses what most of us know.

Regarding the current state of Ukraine and Russia. Without getting into a long protracted discussion, American DOS and CIA were probably heavily involved in Euromaidan. If not for Euromaidan, would Putin have annexed Crimea three months later. Ukraine then becomes an ever larger money laundering operation not only for local oligarchs, but the world. The Biden's even get in on part of the action. The Clinton campaign and DNC set up a Trump/Russia conspiracy that the FBI, DOJ, Special Council's Office, DOD, DOS go along with, that poison Trump's relationship with Russia, thus setting the stage that Trump can not normalize any relations with Russia setting us up for where we are today.

If not for America getting involved in Ukrainian affairs over the past decade, this entire Ukrainian/Russia mess may not even be happening. In the mean time, Ukraine is not enough. As of last week, we are now sending troops to Somalia since it is so important to national security. In 2016, America had troops in 138 nations. (This doesn't include an Embassy marine detachment) https://www.forbes.com/sites/niallm...ountries-in-2016-infographic/?sh=66497faa7343 When does American injecting itself in every corner of the world ever end. This is the problem I have. Why do we, our children and grandchildren need to be saddled with debt that can never be repaid just so politicians can get their hands on billions more of lobbyist money and leave office x100 times richer than when they arrived.

Agree completely that the west has it's share of oligarchs. When a wealthy person buys media to suppress legitimate news or push an opinion that is not true, that person is an oligarch. When a wealthy person spends money with NGO's to push for drop boxes where an election can be manipulated, that person is an oligarch. When a wealthy person uses their influence and money to make individuals take a vaccination against their will, that person is an oligarch. When the wealthy use their influence to allow Wall Street business to remain open during a pandemic while making main street business stay closed, that person is an oligarch. When the wealthy use their influence to get the Fed to print money, thus pushing up the value of their assets, that person is an oligarch. The oligarch problem in America is way worse now than in the "Robber Baron" days. You will get no argument from me that America has a problem with oligarchs.

Republic's will always have a problem with oligarch's. This has been true at least since Crassus used his money to destroy a Republic. The problem is we have way more oligarch's now than Rome did and it seems destruction of the Republic is the goal.

As usual we are largely in absolute agreement.

I also am for being very selective in our deployment of actual warfighting capability. I am distinguishing war fighting capability from military training missions. They are two very different things for two very different purposes.

For instance, I stated, while on active duty, that I believed an invasion of Iraq was not merely foolhardy, but was not in our national interests. Saddam Hussein was merely a nuisance to the US. He was an existential threat to Iran. Every fellow Arabist in uniform, State, or either of the two agencies pretty much agreed with that assessment. I only say that because I absolutely do not believe in issuing a chief executive, even the mentally cognizant ones, a blank check for the deployment of our warfighting forces.

This is one occasion where I think we have been totally reactive from jump street and that it is in our absolute national interests to stop Russian ambitions right now. In other words, I think we should do more and insure that it is Putin who reacting rather than NATO. Moreover, we have the ability to do so without directly utilizing American troops. A not entirely different situation than that facing Roosevelt, France and the UK in 1938. Sadly, Czechoslovakia did not have a Zelensky, and the UK did not yet have a Churchill. This time we have at least one half of that equation.

Assuming Ukraine, along with its desire to to join the EU, survive, it will have a government and economy under far more European supervision than ever before. Like much of the rest of Eastern Europe, I am hopeful its Tammany Hall government model will whither away. The analogy is deliberate.

I think the fence is to keep Brandon inside. Otherwise they'd have to install an invisible fence and put a shock collar on him.
He probably been caught wandering around at night.
