I guess @Foxi is right. If Trump was still president, Putin would still be firmly the president of Russia because the US would still control the world oil price and Putin would not have attacked Ukraine. With Bidet as president USA is on it's way to becoming a third world country and with oil at over $100/barrel Putin can afford his militaristic endeavors.
The long-term result is that Russia will lose what credibility it had on the world stage, Putin will be removed to Siberia and a more realistic committee will be put on charge of Russia's affairs. So I guess this is a good result and we have to thank the ineptness of Bidet and the DemonRats.

Too bad the Ukrainians had to pay the short term price.

As a foreigner, the events inside a country are none of my business and I am careful not to comment on them.
But all of Europe is glad that now in the Ukrainewar Biden is president, regardless of whether his children are good or not.
There are enough negative examples in many families, there is no need to point fingers at others.
Biden knows the Cold War and was always suspicious of Putin.
But DT wasn't the only one who believed in the bears that Putin always put on .
We all believed him in the West.
Only the states of the former Eastern bloc knew what to expect from the Russians in the end.Experiences through decades of occupation.One should listen more to them.
Also Orban/Hungary, has suddenly become very quiet

But one day before the Ukraine invasion Putin was called a genius by Trump.
I leave the evaluation of this statement to the Trumpans.

Howard Hughes was probably a genius but if one reads up on his last years it might be better said he belonged in an institution. Intellect and application don't necessarily go hand in hand or remain that way.

Maybe I should get a lawyer and file suit against my high school. In biology class the teacher said that sex was determined by one of the chromosomes. for females the chromosome has four "legs" while the male had three. This was commonly referred to by their shape which resembled and X and a Y. So all these years I've been operating on incorrect information- now some person says that I need to have a full set of letters behind my name before I can make the judgement as to whether an individual is male or female because determining such is much too complicated for a simple person to know.

I suppose the next step will be to conclude that we simple folks are not knowledgeable enough to say whether an individual is human or not- such determinations should be left to experts. Seems I read where some people in the past made similar claims.

Yet many conservatives and Republican politicians have seized on the soaring number of non-payers to call for tax reform. Sen. Rick Scott as part of an 11-point “Rescue America” plan, said “all Americans should pay some income tax to have skin in the game.”

In an interview with NPR, Scott, R-Fla., denied he wanted to raise taxes lower earners. “I don’t believe in tax increases,” he said.

“I’m not going to raise anybody’s taxes, but I want to have the conversation,” he said. “We’ve got able-bodied Americans who are living off of government programs instead of working, and that’s caused by these Democrat policies. And that doesn’t work. We got billionaires that are not paying, you know, income taxes.″

The Tax Policy Center estimated that a plan calling for all Americans to pay at least $100 in income taxes would raise $100 billion in revenue in 2022. Yet such a plan, by nature, would be highly regressive: More than 80% of the tax increase would be paid by households making about $54,000 or less, and 97% would be paid by those making less than about $100,000.

Gleckman said Scott’s claims about not supporting tax increases while wanting more Americans to pay taxes are “just silly.”

“If you have people paying no tax and you want them to pay more taxes than they’re paying now, I don’t understand what Scott is saying. The reason people don’t pay federal income tax is that they don’t make enough money,” he said.

There are wealthy taxpayers who pay no federal income tax in a given year, as documented in recent ProPublica articles, and they are likely a small share of non-payers, Gleckman added.

It is easier to take the $100 a head from working people then $1 from the wealthy. The wealthy might spend $1000 to keep from giving the $1.

So right before the full scale invasion, Russia moved tanks into the donetsk and lugansk region. Putin declared these independent areas (which have been fighting a civil war for 8 years). No one stopped him and the sanctions were pathetic, you could argue even green lit by Biden saying "minor incursion". It was after nothing happen that Putin went on his Nazi/Drug Addict insane rant.

The US recognizes Taiwan, but China sees it as Chinese Terrority. The reason I say this if the US told Russia they can't recognize an independent region, China Mainland could immediately say your right and attack Taiwan. Just with the information that was out there, I believe China was preparing to do so. The Ukrainians have surprised everyone, and thankfully so. The sanctions have continued to ramp up and hopefully that is a deterent to China.

But the fact that Putin had strategically been able to move into two regions with no resistance, no sanctions and Europe and US funding his war through buying overpriced oil at the time did look pretty smart. Russia not understanding that they wouldn't be welcomed in Ukraine, that Javelins are really effective, basic supply chain issues and them sending Children to fight a war was dumb. If Putin had stopped at Donetsk and Luganstk, he would still be there today just like Crimea in 2014 probably without a single casuality and the West saying we strongly condem these actions.

Germany should not be thankful Biden is president, they should be thankful Zolenskyy, and the Ukrainians have been been tough.

Trump shouldn't have said it, there is a 100 things he shouldn't have said. But to say look at Biden and his strategic leadership when dealing with Putin/Russia is just silly.

It briefly made the news before I believe the 2016 summer Olympics that our great medal winning swimmer discovered he was dating a Y chromosome conversion and dropped the relationship in favor of an X version that was correctly plumbed and produced offspring. If he wasn't a person of high standing I am sure the social media trolls would have had a field day denouncing the swimmer for such a mean act. The rejected conversion stated he didn't know what he was losing. Apparently he did.

Back "in the day" a couple anticipating marriage was required to get blood tests. the tests were to determine if the blood types were compatible PH (+ -). Incompatibility didn't prevent the couple from wedding- just for the hospital to be prepared for the birth and the steps they needed to take to preserve the life of the child.

So now the prospective couple can get blood tests just to determine if each's sex is as advertised.

My friend, what worries many of us here is our president's inability to adequately process or articulate critical foreign (domestic as well, but less existentially dangerous) policy messages. I feel like I am watching my mother around five years before she passed away.

For instance, during the NATO press event, he was asked what the US and NATO would do if the Russians used chemical weapons in Ukraine. He responded that the Alliance would "respond in kind." That means that NATO would respond to that attack with chemical weapons. That would be somewhat difficult, even if he had a clue what he was saying, because the US and NATO destroyed their chemical weapon stockpiles three decades ago. His national security advisor and press secretary have spent the latter half of today trying to clean that dangerous nonsense up. Instead of a stern warning being delivered to the Russians, they are at best chuckling.

He also became loud and almost angry with a reporter for asking about why the sanctions failed as a deterrent. To remind, Biden, his VP, his press secretary and National Security Advisor all stated that sanctions were designed to deter Russia from invading Ukraine. Again, there is serious head scratching goin on here and there should be among our NATO allies. Putin can only be emboldened by what appears to be a befuddled old man.
