@Wheels
That 13 hours may indeed be your best meme yet!

And they may, but that will not prevent a second trump loss. It's the mail-in's real and fake that killed him.

While I agree that Trump can be Rude, Crude and Social Unacceptable. Bush 2 said nothing and was to beat up by the press to no end and made out to be an idiot, just as Reagan, Bush 1. At least with Trump he does not take shit and gives it right back to them. I am afraid that anyone else would be just another Bush 2.
Except Regan and W both won twice. GHWB lost due to a recession, (breaking a campaign promise did not help).

I agree that Trump's trashing of the swamp rats was great. But he tended to trash just about any and everyone as well, including too many Republicans - and their supporters. W and McCain come to mind - plus Dick Cheney. McCain even after he was dead.

Piss-off or scare-off enough of the base and swing voters and you get voted out. And he also cost us the Senate in the process.

I just want a solid conservative that can win (big).

If you don't get my point, fine. I can't explain it any better.
I now completely understand and appreciate your explanation... However, I also believe that the nuances of those details would be lost on the vast majority of the population that do not have your military expertise and background. As you alluded to, the MAGA base loves it, but I disagree that the Russians are laughing. Trump commanded fear and uncertainty from our adversaries if nothing else.

And yes, I likely would hold my nose and vote for him again if i voted at all. But my regret would be that he really might not win, or in winning, accomplish so much less than an alternative.

I hear you... I was merely offering a "what if" scenario... As we have discussed before, I would also like to see a viable alternative myself. A true MAGA disciple without the mean tweets.. A lot can happen between now and then... The best we can hope for in the short term is a strong 2022 election to stop the bleeding..

On the latter issue, you and I are in complete agreement.

Only a follower of Douhet would ever think that bombing campaign had any chance of achieving its objectives. Douhet was wrong. Just flat-out, no idea what he was talking about wrong. As wrong as two boys... no, wait. They've told me I can't use that as an example anymore. Let's just say more wrong than Mahan, and leave it at that.

Amen!

Did not work on London 1940-1941!
Did not work on darn every city you can think of in Germany 1942-1945!
Did not work on darn every city you can think of in Japan 1944-1945! *
Did not work on darn every city you can think of in western Russia 1941-1943!
Does not work on Kharkiv 2022!
Does not work on Mariupol 2022!

* nuclear strikes are different; they are not "bombing a city" per se, they are threatening national annihilation

@BSO Dave if you have not already read these books, I strongly suggest doing so. Neither books are a kiss and tell, but they give the reader an excellent insight to Trump. Both are from former National Security Advisors that worked for Trump. Bolton resigned and McMaster got fired. NSAs need to be really smart guys that know a lot about a lot of the things going on in the world. Biden's NSA, like most of his cabinet, is a light weight.

Trump's major problem is he really isn't very smart. We should all want or demand that our president is smart, hard working and honest. Yes, Trump has a lot of New York street smarts, but he has no knowledge of historical relationships between countries. History matters........a lot! Trump had no decision making processes other than gut feel and winging it. That may work sometime, but it doesn't give consistent, repeatable outcomes.

John Bolton's "The Room Where It Happened"

H.R. McMaster's "Battlegrounds"

50 years ago a person said they changed their registered party so they could vote for the person in the primaries they expected to lose to their preferred candidate in the election. Probably in the last 20 years I heard someone say the same thing.
In reality, is there any intellect left?
Aren't we all manipulated daily? Presidents and high level leaders load the panels when they are signing bills or selling some BS to make it look like the people want it? Control who gets in to their town hall meetings so there is no opposition for the TV showing?
We are looking at a time when the rules mean nothing to leaders or general population. On that basis what can we expect from anybody? One thing: read history.
Oh but that can't happen in our time...... We are watching it.

With regard to the links to purchase books, I'll starve to death before I'll buy anything from Amazon. I'll look elsewhere or not get it.

The Russian Navy is having a bad morning. The destroyed vessel is the Orsk. It is a landing ship . The two damaged vessels are also landing ships of the Alexandr Shabalin class. Both have fires going on the front deck or in the storage area. One in particular could be in real trouble. I assume both were struck with exploding munitions from the Orsk.

Russian stock market reopens

The MOEX Russia Index closed 4.4% higher at 2,580 on Thursday, having been up as much as 12% as the Russian stock market partially reopened for limited trading following a month-long shutdown. However, downward pressure on assets was limited after the central bank banned short-selling on stocks and prohibited foreigners from selling Russian equities and OFZ ruble bonds, while the Finance Ministry ordered its sovereign-wealth fund to buy up to RUB 1 trillion worth of shares, around 7.5% of the free-float MOEX index. Trading resumed for 33 blue chip firms listed in the exchange on Thursday, with energy giants Rosneft (17%) and Gazprom (13.3%) rising while state-backed banks Sberbank (3.9%) and VTB (-5.5%) closed mixed in the half-day session. Russia’s stock exchange has been closed since Feb. 25 following the country’s invasion of Ukraine and in anticipation of punishing international sanctions.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
