I heard on the news that the Russians have slightly more than half a ring around Kyiv and that since it isn't surrounded, the Russian artillery can only reach part of the city. I'm unfamiliar with Russian guns, but I'd expect them to be comparable to US guns- the max range of the 105mm was about 7 miles and the 155 was about 10, 50 years ago and improvements in barrels/powders about double that. Unless the security around the guns is such that they have to remain well within the Russian controlled area, I'm wondering why the entire city wouldn't be within gun range.

The city is quite large - 350 square miles. Conventional artillery would have to be parked well into the outer suburbs to range the city center. The Ukrainian mechanized brigades in the Northeast and Northwest (the South is still open) have stopped the Russians far enough out that their conventional artillery cannot reach the central urban area.

But again, why would there ever be a need for a congressional commission to invoke the 25th amendment? The VP and the cabinet members certainly should be able to handle such situations and in fact have.

I have long thought that due to failing health, a logical and acceptable reason, that Biden will resign when he reaches his third year in office. Harris will become the first female, and female of color to become the President of the USA.

Her year in office would allow her more credibility toward being elected as President that if Biden finished his four year term.

Note: Please don't take this the wrong way. I would vote for, donate to Condoleezza Rice for President.

Of course, now that mainstream news organizations are starting to report on Hunter Biden's laptop, maybe something bad, perhaps very bad, will be connected to Joe Biden. Time will tell...

The penis is merely a transport system- what makes the difference is the testicles and the missing segment from the chromosome (the fourth segment of the X, making it a Y).

What I really don't understand is the basis that the athletic organization used to determine a male from a female. the guidelines indicate that if someone has less than a certain level of testosterone that person is considered a female. The dividing level of hormone can be obtained as in Lia's case by taking other hormones.

this means that several of my friends who are in their seventies and have been diagnosed with prostate cancer and are receiving similar hormone therapies, primarily to reduce the level of testosterone would be eligible to compete in women's sporting events.

The thing is: those guys do not see themselves as women- just guys that are being treated for a medical condition that results in a lowered hormone level. Call any of them a woman at your own risk.

the maps that are shown on the news are quite deceiving. At 350 sq mi the city would be 19 miles across if square, over 20 miles across if round. Add in the distance from the front line needed to provide security for the guns and I can see where large sections of the city would be out of range of the guns and the Russians would have to rely on long range missiles.

On the news I hear that during the phonecall between Biden and Xi, that XI told Biden that the Ukraine war was his (Biden's) fault. In one sense I must agree with Xi. If Trump was president gas prices would still be at 2019 levels and Putin couldn't have afforded the war. With the recent revelations regarding hiding information that led to the election of Biden, Xi could also have blamed the New York Times, Google and Facebook since their actions led directly to the election of Biden, which led to the war.

Guys, forgive my monotony, but I just can't get over the big picture. Isn't it patently obvious that Putin want's to recreate the Soviet Union, Xi wants to conquer Taiwan, Kim wants to conquer South Korea and Iran wants to obliterate Israel? Furthermore, isn't it obvious that the only thing that has a hope of stopping any of them is the USA? So isn't the answer utterly simple - either the USA stops them or we accept all of the above and call it a day? Or have I got it wrong and each of these battles is to be allowed to play itself out to the bloody conclusion one way or the other as your clown president licks ice cream? It is not so much that he is incompetent, but that he doesn't project the strength to dissuade the errant actors, nobody takes him seriously. I fear the mid terms and the impeachment process will be too late. Pelosi needs to act, or one of the generals - there is just too much at stake. Tell me I am over reacting and I will gladly go back to hunting impala, but right now I am very unsettled.

As I see it, you're not wrong.

While I don't think it is smart for America to be the World Police, there really is noone else capable of shutting down the bad actors. And even we need support from Allies to do it effectively. The key is, we need someone with the balls to tell Putin, Xi, Kim, Etc. we will stop them, strength to back it up, and credibility that we aren't bluffing. Biden/Harris/Pelosi are none of those things and anything they say is a joke to the rest of the world.
