Maybe he would approve of going back to horse drawn carts. Has anyone worked out how much green house gas a horse produces per day? It still produces when it isnt hitched to the buggy, so the greenhouse gas factored per kn or mile must be a very uncool number.

Great idea, except we have one Congressional U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, from the great state of New York, who proposes to ban equines as well as cattle for that very reason. It's in her New Green Deal proposal, which is a radical ban on ALL sources of greenhouse gases in a relatively short period of time. Of course, this would virtually destroy our economy, but I think not only do elitists like her don't care, it would actually push us further towards a Socialistic government. Sleepy Joe has stated he is against this, but when the left wing puppet masters pull his strings, we'll see what really happens?

I think that what the greenies in geneneral don't get is that the world isn't getting any smaller and energy requirement wont go down. So if it isn't going to come from fossil fuel, then where? Forget solar and wind, it is a nice idea, but a drop in the ocean. Nuclear is the only alternative, and a good alternative, but they hate that too. The real problem is increasing population, so until they 1. Force the galloping nations to curb population, 2. Accept nuclear, they have no grounding to attack fossil fuels, cows etc. You and I giving up steak will achieve absolutely nothing. Nothing new here, we all know this, but it is the elephant in their rooms.

Without oil and NG, we couldn't support the current world's population. During the late oughts and early teens in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, New Mexico, and North Dakota, we discovered enough NG to support US consumption for about 2 centuries. Nuclear is orders of magnitude more efficient than oil/NG/coal, which is orders of magnitude more efficient than wood fires and horses

If only they would simply revert to the 19th century. But it is far more insidious than that. The single most egregious bit of short range thinking by these remarkably ignorant utopians is the idea of giving up our hard earned energy independence. Being dependent upon Mideast energy production since WWII has not been an entirely successful international strategy. But the utopians would rather give up that independence, embracing instead an urban environment born vision of a world of too expensive traditional energy where the obedient citizenry would be reliant upon "clean" mass transit, bicycle paths, and a relatively few and very expensive electric vehicles. And naturally, such an enlightened race of beings would soon no longer require protein from the grotesque farming of livestock, embracing instead a "healthy" vegan diet supplemented by laboratory created replacements for actual meat. The bottom line is: - If we go green to fast the standard of living will be signifcantly reduced..

Ultimately, probably won't be dissimilar to the crash in buggy whip manufacturing once automobiles became a thing.

Market disruptions due to tech advances aren't fun, but ultimately benefit us all via efficiency gains.

Renewables are less efficient than O&G and nuclear, by quite a wide margin. Since they are less efficient, there is only one way for the market to react: scarcity and increases in price.
