I swear that people are getting dumber by the day. I see media and so called influencers beating their chests and talking about a blue wave after winning elections in Democrat strongholds.

It would be like Republicans saying woooo hooooo, Trump carried Alabama and South Carolina in the General, Red Wave!!!!

Anyone have an idea of the last Republican to win NYC mayor before Giuliani?

And let's be honest, Youngkin wasn't some Conservative Firebrand.
Let's indeed be honest, he was infinitely better than what state has elected and was very nearly Trump's running mate. The worrisome thing are the margins. Independents broke democrat by meaningful percentages and the minority vote Trump seemed to have cut away largely vanished.

The GOP better remember that turn-out is everything, and those republican congressmen from blue and purple states will determine whether or not we have a majority in the house and senate. Lose either and the Trump agenda is done.

Trump is being stupid about the fillibuster. We don't need to die on that hill.
I realize Trump wants to get things done, but he needs to take a hard look at the approaching mid -terms.
Taking a more serious approach, and helping to put an end to the war in Ukraine would score some major points.

I see where you are coming from and somewhat agree.

I've been saying for a couple of months that the economy will be an issue for the midterms. The different equations that any administration uses to cook the numbers on inflation and the economy in general will be disproven in the grocery check out line and in the voting booth.

Yes, some prices have come down, gas etc. Groceries are still at an all-time high, most grocery stores are offering deals for savy shoppers. Yet, the middle class, the working class is being squeezed harder than ever. The living wage vs the cost of living.

I've been telling people that I know for months that Trump must do something to help the middle economically, something flashy that they can feel. If not the House will be lost and he will face endless impeachment hearings for the rest of his term. It will also set up the next Republican nominee for a harder road to hoe.

James Carville may be a maniac, but he damned sure got one thing right when it comes to the average voter!

I can take a selfish point of view on the elections from last night.

I build homes in one of the hottest and fastest growing markets in the country.

A local mayor who has done a horrible job when it comes to crime, drugs, homelessness and revitalization of the city lost her seat.

Candidates who WILL raise taxes in the northern states where the majority of our business comes from were elected.

If rates take a drop, the next couple of years will be very, very good.

Hell, I might finally get to hunt Karamoja!

A radical Muslim mayor of NYC, could very well cause a mass exodus of Jews from the city. Could very well see a huge surge in antisemitism.
If I was Jewish, or anyone with money in NYC, I'd be bailing.

Perhaps I need to amend my position on NY forgetting 9/11. The statistics indicate that the coalition that voted for him simply doesn’t care about it.

I believe I heard that something like 80% of the voters in NYC that were foreign born voted for Mahmdani, some of them probably celebrated it, some probably never heard of it and the others don’t give a crap. (Of 9/11).

Every politician should be forced to listen to Thomas Sowell.

“Decades of slavery and Jim Crow laws did not ruin the Black family. One generation of welfare did”

He isn’t of course saying slavery was good. But that even that wasn’t as devastating to the black family as government subsidies for bad behavior.

My take on the govenor race being a native Virginian,
Sears did not campaign hard or aggressivly early on. Really didnt see much of her ads 3-6 months ago. She started running ads about the time of the one debate they had.
The counties that voted spamberger in are the typical liberal strong holds, roanoke, charlottesville , hampton roads , richmond and northern Va. Either folks voting for their pockets with government funded subsidies ( Richmond and Hampton roads) Or the crazy white woaman liberals in the other areas.
We are screwed, Next up Gun control in Virginia By the end of january I bet

I am likely an outlier, living in rural Alaska, but food prices here are the highest they have ever been, across the board (eggs 8 bucks a dozen, hamburger almost 12 bucks a pound, milk 14 bucks a gallon), and they have gone up quite a bit during Trump's current term. Gas went up slightly. His policies may have helped somewhere but certainly not here.

Unfortunalty thats the case every where, and if it doesnt turn soon the midterms are going to be ugly

Trump also needs to focus on fuel prices, cost of goods, and grocery costs. A significant concern for the middle and lower classes.

Most oil analysts are forecasting an oil glut in 2026, so prices should be stable to lower. This in turn should help mitigate inflation.

I’m afraid consumer prices will continue to rise for the foreseeable future. The Big Beautiful Bill contains a lot of good stuff, like allowing new capital projects to be deducted in total…not amortized. This will spur investment, but will also increase demand for labor and materials. Prices will rise in the short term and be felt long before the economic benefits. If the President’s tariffs survive judicial review, the cost of buying many consumer goods will rise. Eventually, more capacity will be built in America to fulfill the need, but that’ll be long after the shock of higher prices. The administration has less than a year to provide meaningful relief, or the midterms will be bloody. Very little of their current economic plans will do that.

Our farmers market has eggs at 2 dozen for $5,
The only reason I know this is a raccoon got in our chicken coup and killed our laying hens.
We don’t drink much milk and as for everything else we eat it’s whatever we grow, catch or kill. Gas has stabilized here for around $2.60 a gallon.
But from what I hear things are still way too expensive.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Good day, Slider.

Do you by any chance have any 500NE brass left that you are willing to part ways with?

Best regards,
