Regarding DOGE and cost cuts....deploying 4000 NG and 700 Marines..and now Texas deploy its NG must be pretty expensive..

On top of that, Trump ordered a huge military parade, 250th year jubilee of the US Army..on his own birthday.. Seems cost does not matter when Trump has the opportunity to shine..?

What do you think is more expensive... deploying troops? or allowing the 2nd largest city in the US burn, allowing thousands of businesses to be looted, and hundreds of vehicles to be destroyed? Which do you think will be more impactful on both a national and a local economy?

The 250th birthday of the US Army happens to be a pretty big deal.. celebrations of things like this are common all over the western world...

Considering the US Army currently has 954,875 members (including the reserve component and national guard).. do you really think a parade involving 6500 soldiers is big or excessive?

And, considering the US Army has held similar celebrations on all of its significant birthdays (200th, 150th, etc).. is it Trumps fault that they had a parade in 1975 on his 29th birthday too?

In 1991 the parade to celebrate the end of the Gulf War involved more than 8000 service members.. that was a war that lasted a few months and less than 150 service members died as a result of hostile actions...

The 250th Birthday of the US Army celebration is not only smaller and less expensive.. its also been getting planned for more than 2 years (well before Trump took office).. the budget for it was approved in 2023 by the prior administration...

Youre stretching... and essentially looking like a baffoon... you and Munnik should get together and have a study session.. perhaps try to actually learn something or know what you're talking about prior to posting.. you'd get a good bit more respect if you put something up meaningful rather than unsubstantiated drivel..

I suspect that we in the UK are a knat’s testicle away from civil unrest

There are not many of us sheep dogs between the sheep and the ‘rude boys’

We have a government that should really be charged with treason as they are deliberately working against our national interests

Real trouble will come when these parasites are voted out and the next lot are prevented from effecting meaningful change

That is when democracy will be truly under pressure

I’ve spent the last hour or so reading over the last several pages of this thread and it reminded me of a scene in the 1966 movie the professionals staring Lee Marvin and Burt Lancaster.

Most of you gentleman advocate for the use of force to put down the riots going on currently in L.A. ( And rightly so in my opinion ) the problem as I see it is that the actions taken to suppress the riots will only be used by the left to justify more riots.
There needs to be a fundamental change in society where we can get away from this tit for tat justification of actions and find some common ground to turn the temperature down or we may well end up fighting a civil war across the entire North American continent.

probably not that simple, probably goes back to Cain killing Able, or Moses killing the Egyptian, we have laws for the protection of society in general as well as individuals well being, What is going on in LA is more like insurrection , I think the proper solution would be to declare marshall law , arrest NANCY POLOSI's Nephew ( newsom} and proceed with setting up a legitimate government in the left coast by appointing a general as governor for 1 year , till the voting registry can be purged and a free and certified election can be held with no dead, or non citizens voting. and all illegals removed that dont have a green card. this is the USA not a globalist cabal . heck theres already 700 marines there send in 700 more and retake California as a state and prevent civil war setting up a provisional government. And denying the socialist the opportunity to have the advantage of a narrative for insurrection.

As much as I disagree with Soros’ worldview, one can’t fine and jail him for political speech. Laws should apply equally to all.

Unless one can tie him directly to illegal actions nothing can be done. Plausible deniability applies to both sides. There are probably multiple organizations between him and the guy throwing bricks.

Perhaps true but he has clearly helped to destabilize our country with his funding of extreme anti American political candidates, making a farce of our criminal justice system and the rule of law in our country. I do not wish death upon anyone but I will not mourn his passing that can’t happen soon enough, of course his son is already carrying the torch of his twisted world view. His organization and his son’s actions bear scrutiny and any legal mechanism to stop him is worth exploring. Hard to believe he’s actually a U.S. resident.
