1 - You paint Jan 6 as peaceful..Congress was stormed and one person shot dead. The stormers were prosecuted and convicted..several to long sentences.. Was it right to pardon each and everyone by Trump..? Has he nothing but contempt for US courts..?

2 - It is very debatable that 4000 NG and 700 Marines are neccesary to quell the riots. The Marines are combat soldiers.. Combat soldiers against citizens..? Yes, there are citizens..not just illegals protesting because they think Trump and ICE are going too far.

3 - People are angry and protest against policies they do not agree on.

4 - May I humbly remind you that the Ohio NG shot and killed 4 and wounded 9 Kent State students by gunshot on May 4th 1970.during a Vietnam War protest. If things escalate in LA it may end up horribly wrong.. And the NG is one thing..fully trained Marines are trained to kill in war.. If, God help us, they open fire and kill civilians you will have more than riots in LA to worry about..

It always amazes how societies over correct when correcting course. It’s astonishing that the descendants of the Vikings have become what they are today. Sort of like what the Germans have become since those things happened last century. Not unlike what the white liberals in America have become or what has happened to Britain. But they aren’t. I feel like we’re talking in circles.

-nobody is against peaceful protest
-the powers that be in LA, including the police, are not “handling it”
-the “professional rioters” need to be stopped

All of this necessitates state involvement and since there is no state involvement, it necessitates federal involvement.

I can’t make it any clearer than that. So I suppose we will have to disagree.

My big hope is that this helps prevent a summer of riots like we had in 2020. Either because local authorities are more proactive in order to avoid federal (Trump) intervention or because the rioters get a large enough bloody nose that they think twice.

Contrary to what the media would have you believe, there were no law enforcement officers killed during the J-6 riot. The only death was an unarmed protester named Ashli Babbit, a U.S. Military veteran, who was fatally shot by a Capitol police officer who was never charged with murder...

What the media also fails to acknowledge is that every single person arrested on J-6 was denied due process... Trump's pardons were for those charged unfairly, and others adjudicated for time already served that exceeded the normal sentence of said crimes...

Can you please cite a specific example of Trump's contempt or disobedience for any U.S. Court decision? Let me save you some time, there are none... Do not confuse Trump's criticism of Lawfare with actual contempt or failure to follow the rule of law by any U.S. Court...

I agree the numbers you cite are debatable... There should be more like 10,000 National Guardsmen, and 5,000 Marines to adequately disperse the unrest...

Regardless, the Marines are not there to engage with U.S. Citizens who are LAWFULLY protesting. They are there to protect Federal property and back up law enforcement...

Again, you are not hearing what so many have tried to convey to you in this discussion... There is an enormous difference between lawful, peaceful protest and rioting... Even the few legitimate protesters that may be in attendance are doing so without a permit... That is called unlawful assembly, and therefore technically breaking the law...

The events that occurred at Kent State is not the same situation by a mile...

Actually, that is not the case at all according to the stats from registered voters taken from the 2024 election... There was a national surge in republican voter registration along with a significant swing towards conservatism among demographics that historically have not voted for republicans or conservatism. The conservative movement was most significant with the youth vote, black males, and Hispanics that had traditionally voted democrat. Trump campaigned much differently this time around appealing to these demographics much more so than the obviously disingenuous democrat candidates like Harris and Waltz. Trump was the cool candidate that the younger voters rallied toward while resoundingly rejecting the woke nonsense that the left doubled down on in defeat...

What you are seeing is not a growing division, but a democratic party in this country that has continued to shift even farther left politically with a much more vocal and more radicalized fringe that has taken over the party at least in regard to MSM coverage and the propaganda...

However just remember in the US there are a two-party system and everything have fit into this interpretation whether one may disagree on many issues the party you are left to vote for. Clearly you either didnt read earlier posts, or are completely and willfully ignorant of how things work in the US if you continue to believe this is a police matter..

Perhaps large scale violent riots are police matters in Norway... large scale violent riots are not police matters in the US... they become matters for the National Guard and potentially federal troops when they scale past the ability for law enforcement to contain them... this is the way our laws are written, its the way the system is designed, and it is the standard by which numerous US Presidents have responded over the life of our country.

If you don't like the thought that US Presidents do this as a matter of practice (Trump didn't invent the idea, and he isn't the first or only US President to do it), perhaps you should stay in Sweden. If you live in the US long enough you will see this happen every time riots get out of control because local law enforcement don't have the capacity, training, or equipment to handle large scale riots, but National Guards units do.. that is why they get called out..

In 1863 the NY National Guard and the US Marines were called into New York City over the draft riots..

This is nothing new... it is the US way of handling these sort of events.. and has been for a very, very long time..

You make a very interesting point that I have previously made myself in regard to the differences between the republican and democratic parties of the 80's and 90's that I happen to agree with... It used to be that the main difference between the parties was that they had different ideas about how to reach the same common goals...

I have issue with both parties, and I will never again think along any single party line... However, my issue with today's democratic party is that they no longer share the same visions, goals, and principles that used to be that source for common ground and compromise... How do you compromise with a party whose ideologies and platforms are rooted in the complete and utter disregard for our Constitution and the rule of law is it supposed to represent? How do you find common ground with a party that loathes this country and wants to destroy everything it represents?

Furthermore, it goes far beyond politics... I share no sense of morality, community, or cultural values with the democrats of today. The party that once claimed to represent peace, tolerance, free speech, and inclusion is anything but given their actions... They have become the ultimate hypocrites, and they do so with hateful rhetoric and the incitement of violence at every opportunity... How does one even begin to compromise or find common ground under those circumstances? I, for one, cannot and will not...

I agree with Trump's actions to end this nonsense now.....whatever manpower is required. Again, delay in holding people accountable is what "fuels the fire". After being somewhat educated on this site regarding drone warfare, I'm surprised the Left hasn't chosen this as a course of action. I would hope the SO's and PD's across our country are bracing for this possibility...and training for counter-measures. its not a coincidence however that the overwhelming majority of large scale riots (as well as large scale legitimately peaceful protests) in this country over the last several decades have been executed by far left extremist groups or racial minority groups during the tenure of Republican presidents..

The exception would be the Fergusson and Baltimore race riots that happened after the shooting deaths of Brown and Gray respectively during the Obama administration.. but Obama himself had a LOT of influence on those riots and pretty much encouraged them with his racial rhetoric, demeaning of law enforcement, and refusal to hold the rioters accountable....

When Democrats hold power the malcontent millionaires and billionaires generally refrain from sponsoring and funding large scale events..

Christina Walton (one of the richest woman in the US.. possibly the world?) is now funding a protest movement of her own.. will be interesting to see how that turns out..

Shes another very liberal activist that after inheriting her husbands fortune (she married one of Sam Waltons sons) got very involved in funding left wing movements.. she traditionally stays quiet during D administrations and sticks to funding philanthropies like the San Diego Zoo and the arts.. but whenever there is an R in office millions get spent on political activism.. between 2002-2006 I think she donated more than $3B to various causes and charities.. some good things that have nothing to do with politics and everything to do with charity... many however went straight into pushing leftist agendas..
