In 20 years, the US lost 2,324 US military personnel in Afghanistan...this is about 3 days worth of Russians.

Russian is running out of Modern Equipment.

The Rubble is dropping in value.

These are all facts.

You have videos of Ukrainian cementaries. I have seen videos of Russians soldiers, walking over 10, 20, 30 dead comrades, seen videos of them killing themselves, videos of rats eating the bodies in the trenches. Its a complete an utter hellish stand still. BUT I guess that is considered a win in a 3 day war.

I've been reading your posts and as far I can tell, you're expecting us to believe you because you say you know people on both sides and that should be good enough I guess. It's not.

@Red Leg has posted a number of facts that can't be denied. Russia is relying on old equipment, it's been seen on the battle field in rubbles. Are all of those videos we've seen of Russian soldiers committing suicide all fake? How about the declining value of the ruble and sky rocketing interest rates in Russia? If it's going so much better for Russia than we are lead to believe, why has Vlad called on North Korea to provide troops? Is that all made up to?

And for any rebuttal to all of this, do you have anything to support your arguments other than your word?
I never said to believe me at any point i am simply just putting my 2 cents as i thought this was a forum where you can talk freely?

The T64 tanks he mentioned are being used and what off it? Interest rates are high , Ruble is low both are true but how are they still able to support them self after 3 years of waging war?

It's clear you have a side you prefer which is obvious , but i speak for both sides are both are walking out of this as LOOSERS.

Any support i put on will be called propaganda so thers is no point. I am already viewed as one on here once i started talking in the politics section now so let's leave it at that. Once it is all finished i will come back and comment again

They faught sandle wearing herders and yet Ukraine is armed by NATO with modern equipment big difference.

I put Aghanistan as an example to show that in 20 years they could do nothing and ran away from the country not talking about how many died ,and yet everyone laughs at Russia fornot doing much in 3 years with an equal oponent.

Plenty of footage there to be seen if people want to see it.

You can talk freely as you want here within the site's rules. Being asked to support your statements is hardly restricting you from making them. And I certainly didn't use the word propaganda about your posts.

In my working world we have a saying, "In God we trust, all others bring data." If you don't want to bring data or supporting evidence for your statements, the political forum is probably not the best place to be posting.

Yeah our fuck up was trying to nation build and win hearts and minds. If we wanted to stay in Kabul for the next 100 years there wasnt a whole lot stopping us.

The one honest man on Russian television - naturally, they do not allow him on any longer. But it is playing out just about exactly as he forecast. His name is COL (ret) Mikhail Khodarenok, a respected military analyst - at least until he started dropping truths on Olga Skabeyeva's "news" show. He was a remarkably prescient professional in May two years ago. The little ex-KGB thug in the Kremlin should have had him as an advisor rather than his fawning yes men and fellow thieves. He and his allies took far too many "informational sedative's" to quote the good colonel.

If you want to present a compelling argument I recommend doing two things; first, back up your position with data, links, etc.

Second, learn the difference between looser and loser. One is the reduction of restriction - the other is a person that loses, especially consistently. Lack of understanding of basic English makes you come across as uneducated. And if people perceive you as uneducated it makes it more difficult for you to convince them that you know what you’re talking about.

IMPO...Me thinks @capra-capra is a bit of a troll.

A newbie whose first post on the Politics thread seems to be a half ass naive attempt at Russian propaganda.

It would be interesting if @capra-capra could provide some verifiable support of his rebuttal claims/statements.

Some of those sandal wearers are some of the toughest and most resilient fighters on the planet.
A much different dynamic then a Russian leader who resorted to scraping the dregs of the prisons to fill its military ranks for Cannon fodder.

I don't think he is a troll, he admits he is Pro Russian, just a different opinion. Honestly, it is always interesting to hear a different perspective.

Old article but it makes one wonder who won. :ROFLMAO:

@Beaufort, we (Americans) can't really fault foreigners for their lack of (American) English comprehension and composition skills. Just as I would hope foreigners not consider Americans ignorant because Americans can't or won't proficiently learn or otherwise bastardize the respective foreigner's language.

You are spot on with this;

I love this kind of article. The Pentagon doesn't arm anyone anywhere other than the armed forces of the United States. The Pentagon may provide military assistance to any number of entities at the direction of the National Security Advisor in the name of the President directly or the Department of State.

This is a really good little tutorial on the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Reporters love to look at trees and forget the strategic forest. The maps show Russian advances and occupation over nearly three years of combat - three years in which Russia has destroyed its modernized army. What an incredible achievement for the little dictator in the Kremlin. He is lucky to have such an apathetic population. Looks more like 1918 than the action of a modern armed forces doesn't it. But do please draw your own conclusions.

The time lapse map even more clearly demonstrates the extent of Russian success for the cost of 700,000 maimed, killed, and missing young men.

Since you like to call it "like it is," these statistics are provided by a nonaligned research effort, that only counts combat equipment destruction for which there is video or photographic evidence. I would urge you to avail yourself of their data, and you can draw your own conclusions about how things are going. I should also note that they provide the same analysis for Ukraine so you can do your own comparative analysis. Bear in mind, that these totals are only those for which there is physical photographic or video evidence.

My assumption is that Putin is hanging on in the belief Trump will pull his chestnuts from the fire. He may well be right. But what little Russian arms have achieved on the battlefield has been a catastrophe for the country for which I suspect there will be an eventual reckoning.
Sweden/Finland joining NATO, Assad out in Syria, 400k dead in Ukraine fighting a 3rd world military with the population of Texas, all to gain strategically insignificant territory that might be the size of Mississippi. Poland could march straight to Moscow with their reserves if they wanted to, this is an inarguably a disaster for Russia over the last 3 years.

Kind of splitting hairs aren't we?

While the use of 127e funding does require concurrence from the relevant Chief of Mission, the money is earmarked for, and comes from, the DOD does it not?

I have read his post and gave @capra-capra leeway to post credible resources. He has not provided any such resources...as of yet. @capra-capra still maintains to challenge others of this forum who provide information and resources on current events that allow members to validate what is being stated.

I have no problem with @capra-capra being pro Russia and wanting to challenge western (US and NATO European) news medias Ukraine reports. However, if @capra-capra is not able or willing to provide verifiable creditable support for his challenges.....Isn't the action of a troll to challenge or discredit verifiable information based on their word alone?

I consider US MSM to be tolls with their edited, out of context misinformation/ information until what the MSM is reporting can be fully, that is without reasonable doubt, verified through other resources.

I think Trump did pretty well in his interview on meet the press this morning. The NBC article with respect to it also was far more in keeping with its commentary of any other politician as well. Trump's comments on immigration - particularly with respect to working with democrats to find a solution for Dreamers was a welcome departure from his campaign rhetoric and some of the assumptions of many of his followers.

“I will work with the Democrats on a plan,” he said, praising “Dreamers” who’ve gotten good jobs, started businesses and become successful residents. “We’re going to have to do something with them,” he said.

No one, except the most ardent supporters of the ACLU, will argue over the immediate deportation of criminals.

I would agree with him that many of the Jan 6 defendants were overcharged and sentenced by a zealous prosecution and judge. However, there were a number of defendants that did commit violence. I trust he will be somewhat selective in those day-one pardons.

I think he is correct with regard to birthright citizenship, but I suspect that will require a constitutional amendment unless SCOTUS can provide a rather dramatic reinterpretation of the 14th Amendment.
We also should deport as many illegal immigrants as possible who came here under Biden that are not serious criminals.

I am and I have some experience in how it works. I suppose I look at it as a policy issue. The Pentagon has no military assistance policy - rules aplenty - but no policy. Obviously a combatant commander will have a voice in military assistance decisions, often an important one, but It acts at the behest of the administration. So does the CIA for that matter, though the CIA has acted under a mission order construct to a far greater degree than DOD. I should add much of what CIA provides may also come from DOD though through separate funding lines.

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
