Politics

Do you ask that because I won't take any shit from the anti- Trumpers around here, who continually take shots at me.?

No, I just can’t recall you ever saying anything positive about or to anyone. Historically in politicians I admire Churchill, Thatcher, Reagan and Harper to name a few. Of the current batch I feel that Zelensky has done a great job inspiring his country to oppose Putin. Who do you look to, past or present, as a strong leader?

@freefall ... Not laughing at you at all. But I GENUINELY laughed out loud at your comment. Well played sir.

Just that I wonder if you aren't a liberal troll who has come to a hunting forum to foment a lot of anti-Trump feeling.
I'm planning to vote for the guy, have had plenty of disagreements with those here who reflexively trash him, but you make ME dislike him. After reading most of your comments I actually feel dumber for ostensibly being on the same side.
Liberal troll? LoL
Hardly. I am the absolute polar opposite of liberal.
I've been here 9 years. Ive posted on many threads. I enjoy reading the hunting reports, photos, and other topics that interest me.
I just happen to be exceedingly passionate against the very bad direction that politicians are taking this country.

There is a "Ignore" function available. Just click on my profile and click "Ignore. My posts won't be visible to you
Your problem is solved.
I have a growing list of people I have put on ignore. It works both ways.

Ignoring those who disagree with you is a very mature way of handling disagreement. Much more effective than reasoned discussion. Well done.

I don't ignore people simply because they disagree with me. I don't care who disagrees with me. Just the highly annoying ones.
I'll wait for some of the mature and reasonable discussion from you ......something other then complaining about other member's

The year I graduated high school, Jimmy Carter was still President. Seemed like a nice man, but politically speaking, smart as a box of rocks.
Ronald Reagan was the first president I supported and voted for. Seemed like a man of conviction and sound principles.
Like Trump (Covid), Reagan made some mistakes. Probably by taking advice from the wrong people. (Iran- Contra). No president is perfect, but I respected him.

Who do I like?
Desantis, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Jim Jordan.. ...to name a few.
Perfect politicians? Certainly not.

I'm sure Mike Johnson is a good man at heart, but when you go against the majority of your party to advance a bill, he is going to stir up the proverbial hornets nest with those of us that are ultra fiscally conservative, and who are weary of the tax dollars being spent on endless foreign wars and aid to other countries.

Zelinskyy has a war to fight. I get it. A Ukrainian defeat is not going to vault Russia into world domination that the gaslighters would have you believe.
If so many world leaders believe this, why hasn't anyone else joined the fray?
A Ukrainian website made the claim that 80% of the Ukrainians feel that Zelinskyy is responsible for the corruption within the Ukrainian government and defense ministry. I don't trust any of them with my tax dollars. As a taxpayer, I have the right to have an opinion about it. Right, wrong, or indifferent.

Time to take a breather gents and realize how likely blessed you are that you're even on this great website. It likely means you've done well enough for yourself that you're either seriously considering a hunt in Africa or have been, perhaps multiple times.

I'm tellin' ya gents, you'd benefit from two wheels and a road like Bartlett Dam road. See below map.....nice ups/downs and twists over a roughly 10 mile stretch. You won't even think about Joe Biden or politics in general. And you just can't help but smile throwing a bike thru the curves. Did this ride today as a matter of fact. Also enjoy the video, even if you have no interests in motorcycles, the song is at lest relaxing, Sting covering Jimi. The video is filmed on the same road.

Phil, here is a motorcycle video more inline with this thread  :p

The Isle of Man annual race. The most exciting race in all of motor sports. 200+ mph on city streets
Wow! That is crazy! I’ll bet a lot of those crashes are fatal to both riders and spectators.

I bet some of those riders have shit in their shorts after some of those speed wobbles! That is just insane.

OMGOSH some of those riders were killed or seriously injured for sure. Gives me chills watching those wrecks. I had four fractures and a couple bad concussions in my motocross career at much lower speeds. Those “tank slappers” where the motorcycle starts severely wiggling due to the rear wheel trying to pass the front wheel are particularly scary because there’s usually enough time involved that you know the ending is going to really hurt if you can’t regain control. Got my worst concussion from one of those crashes that literally broke my Bell helmet. Didn’t know or recognize anyone for two days.

As a racer, the crashes that anger you are the ones where another idiot (we were all a bit crazy) smashes into you from behind in a corner where there’s not enough room to go two or three wide at speed. I never understood those. Several of those on this video and the guys that hit the barriers might have died. Then there’s the “rag dolled” wrecks where the rider gets tumbled uncontrollably like a rag doll. Ouch! Fractured my right leg in three places from one of those.

The risks in the Isle of Man race are at least 100 times higher than motocross. I can’t imagine racing at those speeds and with trees, buildings and spectators lining the road. One miscalculation by you or another rider that hits you and you’re badly injured or dead at those speeds. Wow!

Part of me wants to go to that race, on the other hand, I’m not sure I want to witness or potentially be collateral damage on one of those crashes!

Exactly! I would want to be up on a berm on the inside of a corner looking down. Definitely wouldn’t want to be at streetside!

Brent I appreciate when you make some good points... But you often make points that are not seen by many as good reasons to support Trump. In fact you point out what a lot of people see as negatives towards Trump.

This I think is a very large part of Trump's problems getting those middle of the road voters. For example, people take what you (and many other Trump supporters) say about Ukraine as wanting to abandon Ukraine to be at the mercy of Russia and especially Putin. Thus you can be seen as supporting Putin, and Trump gets pulled into that. Especially now while he is embroiled in this bullshit trial.

I don't know Trumps heart on this, but I do not believe he would throw Ukraine to the Russian wolf as the Democrats (and some of your rhetoric) would have it appear.

The way I interpret (and Trump Speak needs careful interpretation, as did Obama's) Trump's comments indicate he would open intense negotiations with both Zelinsky and Putin. Telling both they had better come to agreement and putting ultimatums in place for both. I cannot know what those might be but one could speculate that Ukraine my not be permitted to join NATO and Russia would need to pull back to at least to Crimea. I assume there would be trade and transport agreements regarding pipelines and shipping.

What I read that Trump's position on Russia is, pull back, agree to a reasonable peace accord, or the US WILL give Ukraine everything they need to push the Russians out! Brent why do you want to undermine that?

I’ve put it off for decades. the Isle of Man race will be during my England, Ireland Scotland tour.

it’s been going since 1911 and averages two deaths per year. Many of the top GP riders will not enter.

I am quite sure he is not a liberal troll! I do believe that when it comes to @Brent in Az What you see is what you get! Nothing hidden nor held back.

I have to agree with the rest of your comments;)

Hello Doug,
I am Philippe from France and plan to go hunting Caprivi in 2026, Oct.
I have read on AH you had some time in Vic Falls after hunting. May I ask you with whom you have planned / organized the Chobe NP tour and the different visits. (with my GF we will have 4 days and 3 nights there)
Thank in advance, I will appreciate your response.
Merci
Philippe

Hi Walden. Good morning from England, Chris here (The Englishman!) from Croatia. Firstly it was a pleasure to meet you and Michelle - a fellow Sanderson! I have finally joined AH as I enjoy it very much. Glad you enjoyed the hunt and your write up which I read on AR was very good indeed. I am sending on WhatsApp pics from Bojan of some of the animals hunted recently. Take care and best regards. CS.
