The economy is doing so great under Brandon, that my USAA auto insurance went up $259.42 for the next six months. I don't have a single ticket (ever), no accidents, and I'm using their Safe Pilot app. :A Bang Head:
8 million new people need wheels man! Car thefts through the roof so insurance going up.

Heard this on the news yesterday while I was cleaning. I tried to look it up quick. A similar person’s insurance rates increased dramatically although no citations, accident, or anything.

I think I’ve heard it all, an Obama appointed judge in Illinois has said illegal immigrants can now possess firearms! To me a true WTF moment!

Simultaneously in Illinois, the Mayor of Chicago is suing Glock because they made a handgun that the thugs on the streets were able to invent “glock switches” to turn them full auto. The legal theory is that Glock should have made it more difficult to convert their guns to full auto.

We’ve entered clown world my friends. I hate to sound condescending, but anyone reading this in Illinois better have a plan to get the heck out of that State. It took me ten years to escape and required a $300k loss on a home and $100k in excess property taxes paid over the same timeframe in any surrounding State. All for the privilege of living in a State with a lower credit rating than Romania, a $100 BILLION+ unfunded pension liability for teachers, soaring crime, an outright ban on GCA/NFA items, annual emission testing of vehicles, the highest property taxes in the nation, a 5% income tax rate, some of the highest fuel charges in America, and a one-party rule representation in the US Senate for my lifetime. The smash and grabs on the Magnificent Mile have driven away the tourists, the Gold Coast’s mansions are down in value almost 50%, several billionaires and their enterprises have left, etc.

There is no recovery for Illinois. Run.

Mine has gone up almost 40% in 18 months. I havent had a ticket or accident claim. They are blaming it on the auto repair industry price increases. I call b.s.
I refuse to install an insurance spy app.

Democrat dystopia is spreading like a plague of locusts

I think I’ve finally figured out the reasons for TDS among certain select “businessmen”. Some mini-garch suppliers/middlemen (small time oligarchs) are still po’d at and have developed a hatred for Trump for imposing a 27% tariff on many proprietary imports from China, cutting into their previous, lucrative sweet deal profit margins. Of course they fear repeat or worse if he’s elected again. In some ways similar to the Brandon family syndicate but these mini-garchs heretofore have been able to fly under the radar of the general population’s scrutiny. Time will tell if this is “over the target”. :)

I don’t know what the “proprietary imports “ are, but the 10% tariff for certain electronics is still in effect In Biden administration.

Orrrrr.... It could just be that some folks see Trump for the narcissistic, unchanging twatwaffle he is, and have decided they are done with that. And some of us aren't businessmen either, select or otherwise.

We all have our own theories. ;)

Funny, I’d rather be shot at by a Glock on full auto than otherwise. The chance a thug can control that weapon on full auto is about zero.

Also funny on that's what they feel the real threat is....
-Gangs....Nope
-Drugs.....Nope
-Migraht crisis...Eh
-Corruotion...No way

-Full auto Glock switches....YES! o_O

It's worse than that, don't get me started....

(I'm like a skilled artisan when it comes to my critiques of the cesspool State of IL)

Hyundai and Kia automobiles are the easiest to hack and then steal due to their ignition system. Logic would suggest heavy policing for grand theft auto to deter theft, but not in Chicago. The mayor of Chicago is suing the car manufacturers because they made their autos too easy to steal.

Personal responsibility is anathema to the State of Illinois.

Ignoring the onboard spying app people installed to indicate their actual driving risks, the supermajority of insurance pricing increases is due to real inflation.

How so?

I bought a 2016 Dodge Ram, totally decked out, every option including the diesel, in summer of '16. $61,000 MSRP. I negotiated well, took every rebate (I'm a very sophisticated incentive user). Bottom line, I paid $42,000 in cash for the truck.

The same truck in 2023 (last year for same features) has an MSRP of $78,000 and a real-world after incentives price of nearly $70,000.

Insurance has to price in repair/replacement costs, hence insurance has gone up considerably.

Anecdotally, what's the blue book value of my 2016 truck with 70,000 miles right now today? EXACTLY what I paid for it new 8 years ago.
