I've been in Bali for a month and just caught up on the last 30 odd pages when possible. Seems like heated debates here and there. If my absence offended anyone then take heart I'm back. If my presence offends anyone take heart it sucks to be you.

I have had several comment poised but they would have been weeks out of date. Just know I agreed with some and not with others. Glad we seem to be back on track and look forward to this thread keeping me up to date.

Like the rest of you, I was saddened at the death of American journalist, Gonzalo Lira. He was imprisoned and tortured. He repeatedly asked the Biden Administration for help, but then, he was not a Black 6'9 transgender with drugs, and so he was ignored. In a prison. In a country ruled by a socialist dictator.....he spoke out against the loss of religious freedom, the outlawing of the official use of his native language, and ....ya, The sniffer of girl children. Actually, you didn't hear about this death if you're a spoon-feeder. It doesn't fit any MNM agenda. On the humorous side, had to laugh at RB today...He said Joe doesn't even hold press conferences anymore, he's too busy...he was caught in a bicycle shop looking at the helmets and wondering if they were people..........stay vigiliant.............FWB

Pretty frightening. Not too different from a scene out of "Dune" which is set 20,000 years in the future. How long before such a drone with an AI chip is sent off on its own to find a specific target.

Think of how many of these China can mass produce with 1/4 block of C4 and some frag on them. Now imagine they dont have individual operators but are instead AI pre-Programmed to look for US equipment through their camera (certain pouch, helmet style, patch, etc.) and detonate within 2-3 ft of their target. Or imagine any human NOT wearing some sort of RF beacon is a valid target in the line of code.

Yea I've seen the L-MADIS, it's a step in the right direction. We talk a big game, but the US military is nowhere near where it should be when it comes to offensive or defensive applications of UAVs, this is coming from my experience and people currently in thay world.

Pretty frightening. Not too different from a scene out of "Dune" which is set 20,000 years in the future. How long before such a drone with an AI chip is sent off on its own to find a specific target.

I saw a movie on my last overseas flight that did just that, drones had specific Secret Service Agents to take out by facial recognition. Pretty spooky if that SCI-fi comes to fruition. Probably will some time soon , if someone can think it up someone can probably do it.

You are correct.

Though in fairness, depending on the count tonight and Halley's decision following a strong cup of coffee and breakfast in the morning, a total of perhaps only 250,000 Republicans (110k in Iowa) or so will have determined the Republican nominee. Whatever that is, it isn't exactly a national mandate.
