It would pay to study history carefully. I just read a paper compiled by the US Navy which includes most all the de-classified records of actions (either via normal channels or by FOIA- doesn't matter) that led up to the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. I think it has been out for awhile, maybe 2006? or so. It is not at all very flattering to those involved. Hats off to whomever in the Navy put it together, it took some courage. The conclusions drawn in the paper are also backed up by a civilian historian who focused on LBJ. The state of mind, thinking and sales pitch involved in this current no-questions-asked policy and $ push for Ukraine (acting as our war surrogate against Russia) seems eerily similar to the domino affect ghost and similar thinking leading up to the '64 decision to go all-in in Vietnam. A decision that saw about 500,000 US troops in South Vietnam by 1967. A drum beat I remember clearly that went, "Stop the Commies in South Vietnam or we will have to stop them at our doorstep", aka the domino affect. The outcome of that war is well known to history.

I read, in this thread, a pretty good response to what appears to be a similar, domino affect, thinking about the Russia-Ukraine war. It went something like and is heavily paraphrased, my apologies to the author .... "Russia would certainly run out of steam before reaching very deep into Europe. The domino affect scare tactic is likely a straw man/fear gambit for throwing, with an "emergency label", more money and arms at Ukraine with little to no accountability. And Putin assuredly also knows his limitations." Also, IMO, the last Russian experience in Afghanistan cannot be remotely compared to current Russian resolve or aspirations in eastern Ukraine. To assume that would be folly and to our detriment.

I also remember the exchange here on the forum about how the US House of Reps and new speaker Johnson would or should react to the push for a bill linking Ukraine and Israel aid together instead of debating them separately. IMO linking such important decisions now with no concern for our very shaky economy and ever increasing, astronomical debt is not at all wise and likely stupid and short sighted. But, I guess it is an old hard ball political strategy known well in the pork barrel tactics of certain politicians... a common MO in the swamp and among special interest lobbyists. A strategy that sometimes sweetens even the bitterest of poison pills that any over-bloated, loaded bill may contain. I see Johnson is holding firm on the idea that Ukraine aid needs to be linked to some form of serious US border security... turning that swampy cesspool strategy right back on the Admin and ole "rock star" Volod's apparatchiks. I hope Johnson and those using this strategy hang tough! Well, as Yogi used to say, "What goes around comes around"

Every time I think of Biden or see his ugly mug on TV, I am reminded of that great western movie, The Big Country, with Gregory Peck and Burl Ives. Ives son played by Chuck Connors who is just a lame brain coward and a liar.

More of Russian state media's excitement over Republican opposition to helping Ukraine and sheer giddiness over a pending election of Trump. Makes me sick.

And a compilation of Russian plans for Ukraine again approved by the Kremlin. The Trump loyalists should get to know their new strategic partners.

I would point out that Russian state media knows that US media will use clips like this to go, "see Republicans/Trump are working for Russia".

Not 100% sure the end game, but I am reluctant to take this at face value.

But this? "Trump is usually just plain joking but Biden believes every word he says." Boy, I just don't think that's the case. I think all too often his comments are a completely accurate reflection of who he really is inside. And that's not someone I want leading our country.
