Just need the right candidates - local and national. To remind, Ron DeSantis won Florida by NINETEEN percentage points against a very moderate Democrat. He even carried Miami Dade. Greg Abbot won the governorship of Texas by 11%.

With all of the damage that Ukraine shows as happening to the Russian forces, I wonder why Russia can persist with such losses- but then I see what news the US public receives from MSM and conclude the Russians get pretty much the same approved versions.

Russia is a huge country and while their military is getting hit pretty hard from time to time they have the manpower and armament left over from the USSR to continue their little adventure in Ukraine for a long time unless there's some kind of political change in their country. They've had the time to prepare a defense in depth and without control of the air the Ukraine military or any other military in the world is going to struggle to defeat something like that.

The official Russian news on the damage to the sub was that it was minor, then it was a little more and probably at some point they will admit the boat is toast. The one thing consistent about Russians in the past and present, is their ability to lie about the obvious. Sometimes it's pretty comical.

Two photos of the "damaged" Kilo class submarine struck in drydock have emerged from Crimea. This is a pretty good illustration of what is called non-repairable. Looks like it was hit with two Storm Shadow cruise missiles or one that traversed the length with an impressive exit wound.

Destroying this sub, the B-237 Rostov-on-Don, is a pretty big deal. It is a modern diesel electric drive boat that was commissioned in 2014. Among other ordinance, it is designed to launch land attack cruise missiles and has been used extensively in strikes against Ukraine.

The extensive damage to the two drydocks themselves will also provide an enormous maintenance headache for the Black Sea fleet.

Very.

I can remember at least three talks over the last forty years or so at various off-sights or academic forums conducted by well respected economic experts predicting the imminent demise of China. What I find interesting about Zeihan is his less rigid and far more wholistic view of international issues and national power. I think that likely comes from more meaningful thinking about issues rather than collecting diplomas from major universities.

The nice thing about the capitalist system - even one run by millennials - is that it can respond remarkably quickly to market needs (i.e. a broken Chinese supply chain) and profit by them.
