Politics

The comment above covers your question. The second amendment DOES NOT grant the right to keep and bear arms. What it says is that the right to keep and bear arms is a God given right upon which the government may not infringe.
That explains the left's position on the 2nd Amendment. As far as they are concerned there is no God, hence there cannot be any God given rights. ;)

McCarthy pulled his balls out of his man- purse long enough to announce an impeachment inquiry into Commie Joe's dirty dealings.

Too many swamp rats in the Senate for enough votes to convict, but hopefully they can make a PR awareness campaign out of it.

Sad, but unfortunately true in many if not most cases when youre talking about leftists..

Even many of those that profess to have a faith in God dont really demonstrate that faith with any frequency.. it appears more to be about making the show rather than actually believing..

Indeed, with a purely materialist worldview, natural rights cannot exist.

Any rights which do exist must therefore be a gift from the state and can be granted and removed on a whim.

I'm glad Gaetz is holding McCarthy's feet to the fire.
It looks to me like impeachment is getting tied together with the politics of the spending bill?

If so, thats not good for those that want to reduce spending and move impeachment forward.....

I get the PR of impeachment, but that's all its going to be. Spending is forever...

Maybe it will get turned around and they use impeachment as leverage for the spending bill....But it does not look that way right now to me...

I do not understand extolling Gaetz and the remainder of the obstruction, I mean freedom, caucus. Thus far all McCarthy has announced is an inquiry without a vote. I would assume that means he doesn't have the votes, because a number of moderate republicans won't agree.

Taking this to the next "logical" step, should Gaetz think vacating McCarthy will somehow increase the likelihood of an actual impeachment, he is drinking his own Kool-Aid.

And yes, combining this politically in some way with spending bill will hardly help the Republican caucus. An extension of some sort will eventually pass. The republicans would be smart to come up with a pass strategy that looks like a win rather than yet another failed attempt at obstructionism.

Response from New Mexico Attorney General is pretty good.

I’m astounded! A Democrat Prosecutor who intends to uphold the law? Expect him to be primaried. The Dems can’t allow principled positions that get in their way. Bully for him!
To quote President Reagan,"Self defense is not only our right; it is our duty." Great to see at least one bureaucrat with the spine, guts and balls to uphold his Constitutional oath.

Interesting quote, as if memory serves, Reagan signed the "Firearm Owners and Protection Act" allowing the Hughes amendment, banning full auto firearms in 1986. I think he also backed the Brady bill (it was personal to him, post assassination attempt) and the assault weapons ban. I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong.

And before everyone freaks out, I'm not saying I dislike Reagan, nor do I think he wasn't a great President. I do feel he lacked forethought on a few things.

Expect lots of lawsuits.
This is what the left has figured out. Do whatever you want, legal or not, knowing it will take time and resources to fight, in a court system that's already bogged down with cases. Also knowing there will be zero recourse. It's like a drone swarm attack on our liberties via the legal process. Just like New Mexico. But it's working for them.

If he’s trying to do something about it, which the article says he is, he is the first Ukranian leader to do so. Like the Russians, it’s baked into their culture.

Corruption is there since forever.
This is in 2016.
A scandal in Croatia, resulted in arrest of air force officer, allegedly being bribed to sign for acceptance of mig21 fighters "serviced" in Ukraina. Few jets in recent years just dropped from sky, presumably due to mechanical faults.

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
