Please Help Raise Funds for Pathways Residence in South Africa

I unfortunately couldn't give a lot - money gets tight this time of year. :( But I gave a little as I very much respect such projects and appreciate the fact that my life has been easier than it is for plenty of other folks in this world who just want a chance. Best wishes to this endeavor and all the wonderful people whose lives it may touch!

Money on its way

Well I promised to donate a percentage of the next hunt I booked through AH to this worthy cause. Money is on its way. Good luck with your efforts Johnny!

Right now I'm recovering from my own losses but I undertake to donate 20% of the daily rates for the next hunt I book through AH to this very worthy cause.

Thank you very much Chris, that's great and generous of you! It is indeed going directly to a worthy cause.

Here is some GREAT news from Johnny and Bev Vivier from Pathways Residence in South Africa.

YOU DID IT!!!!! Through the generosity of you Jerome, Mrs. J and ALL our fantastic fellow hunters and friends who stepped up to the plate, we managed to raise R32,000 that came in via the AfricaHunting.com network and Paypal.

We put this money together with another donation of R30,000 from Pathways Pretoria, and last week we turned the key on to a huge cheer and applause from the young adults for a much needed generator at the Pathways Residence in Pretoria South Africa!!

Myself and some great "mighty men" namely, Andre Gaum, Andre Bowen, Alan, Judas, Pascual and Calvin, we worked 3 weekends in a row, clearing the ground, laying piping and electrical cables, poured cement, welded and put the roof up and finally connected the 32 KVA Generator to the Residence... It was a heart warming day to say the very least!!

Our wonderful wives Bev and Bridget made sure that our hunger pains and thirst was kept at bay as we pressed on to get this most needed machine in place and ready to supply power to the house.

Once again, from all our challenged Young Adults, the house mother and 2 facilitators and all the parents and folks that are involved and supportive of the Pathways Residence, we want to thank you ALL most sincerely for your contributions and for making this dream a reality.

Thank you for changing and touching the lives of these young adults that are a lot less fortunate than each of us... you are very special and blessed!!

At anytime any one of you "Mighty Folks" are near the Pretoria East area then please feel free to pop in for a cup of coffee and come and meet the Residents themselves ~ they would love to meet you and to show you around; especially that a part of you is embedded in the residence forever!!

Take care and warmest regards,

Johnny and Bev Vivier (Land Donors of the 1st Pathways Residence)

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
