Pivot mount interchangeability

To clarify: The scope on my Mauser does not have to be rezeroed when reattached to it. Only required when mixing scopes to different guns. Eye relief changes too (but not significantly).
I'm glad you clarified that. Now let me clarify:

When switching between rifles, barrels, or different scopes, one does not rezero the scope between the different rifles or barrels.

In other words, suppose you had an R8 with two separate barrels. Only one scope is required. When you change out barrels, swap the scope between, and it holds zero.

Or, suppose you had a nice Mauser in 7X57, and a Ruger in .375 Ruger. One scope, two rifles, no problem. Just swap.

Is the system expensive? Why yes, yes it is. Then again, it depends on how you define expensive. Certainly, 700 euros is not cheap. But in the R8 example, it's cheaper than buying a second quality scope. Similarly, if you have several different rifles, you can simply swap one scope between. Buy once, cry once, so to speak.

I get it. You don't like spending money, even when you have money. But there is such a thing as penny wise and pound foolish. You've made your choices. Others will make theirs.

Adjustable bases have been around for a long time. I have a 760 Remington made in 1952, the first year of production, and it has a Bauch & Lomb detachable system with adjustable base. It works poorly on both counts. When scope is detached, the shooter must look under a locking bridge to see iron sights. With scope attached, quick target acquisition is handicapped due to high mounts. But a scope that's zeroed on two different guns with the same adjustable bases would or should be interchangeable without rezeroing. Does the benefit outweigh the disadvantages? Not for me. I would be interested to know how this EAW design has dealt with the acquisition problem, especially on classic dangerous game rifles with Eropean low-comb stocks. What is the height of base + rings?

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
