I'm glad you clarified that. Now let me clarify:To clarify: The scope on my Mauser does not have to be rezeroed when reattached to it. Only required when mixing scopes to different guns. Eye relief changes too (but not significantly).
When switching between rifles, barrels, or different scopes, one does not rezero the scope between the different rifles or barrels.
In other words, suppose you had an R8 with two separate barrels. Only one scope is required. When you change out barrels, swap the scope between, and it holds zero.
Or, suppose you had a nice Mauser in 7X57, and a Ruger in .375 Ruger. One scope, two rifles, no problem. Just swap.
Is the system expensive? Why yes, yes it is. Then again, it depends on how you define expensive. Certainly, 700 euros is not cheap. But in the R8 example, it's cheaper than buying a second quality scope. Similarly, if you have several different rifles, you can simply swap one scope between. Buy once, cry once, so to speak.
I get it. You don't like spending money, even when you have money. But there is such a thing as penny wise and pound foolish. You've made your choices. Others will make theirs.
