Picked up my first Pronghorn today

Nice buck! Your taxidermist did a nice job on the mount.

Antelope is one of my favorite to pursue, as well as one of the better dining choices imo. As was mentioned, the key is get them nekkid and on ice asap. Next step is let them hang and age, just like beef; 10-14 days. Hard to beat for flavor and a lot more tender than most give it credit for. Had antelope steak yesterday.
Great looking mounts, they are a pretty animal. What is the eating like?

I don't see pronghorn's on a regular basis but that looks like a dandy.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
