Outfitters and political posts

@LivingTheDream You and I will have to agree to disagree ... I do think that he is that and worse! As far as the vote I was 80% voting against TRUMP. A couple of issues that have leaning liberal include: My wife and I had to terminate a late term pregnancy where her life was in jeopardy and the fetus was already dead ... so I think that was OUR decision and not the decision of a political party! I support the right for ANY adult to marry ANY other adult. I support a single payer health system to ensure continuing coverage for pre-existing conditions. And finally, I REALLY think America is pretty damn great right now! I am tired of TRUMP running down every single person in our government ... there are millions of Americans that have given their entire professional life working for this country and all he does is denigrate them!!!

@Scott Slough thanks for replying back! I can see you point of view and agree with you on the pro-choice thing, it's something I haven't had to go through and hope I never have to. Other points we will disagree but I figure everyone has an issue that matters the most to them and that is how they vote.

There are Hunters who vote for the political party which clearly despises Hunters ?

Wow.

Vote third party or write my name in. That way you can be assured to be able to complain for the next four years

Fact - I have two neighbors afraid to put up "Trump" signs in their yards.
Both are combat Veterans.

Set up a pop up blind in the corner of your yard. Put up a couple Trump signs in your yard. It is like putting a bunch of alfalfa near a waterhole.

Happy hunting!!

I must be missing something. Is there ANY political candidate or party with a platform stance against aborting a pregnancy to save the mother's life? And is there any political candidate or party platform that opposed removal of an already dead fetus? I don't even think there is a religious organization that would be against it aside from those wackos who are against all forms of modern medicine. Heck, I don't even think the Westboro Baptists would oppose that. And also once the fetus is dead, it really isn't a pregnancy nor a termination so I don't even think that would qualify as an abortion even if it used the same medical procedure.

I have already voted against Trump ... not real happy that it is for Hillary ... but she is preferable to a misogynist, racist, xenophobic billionaire who thinks that the world owes him.
But a world class lying, misogynist enabler, billionaire who thinks she is owed the White House, who is less qualified to run this country than you or me is OK? You lost me pal.

And to boot, a gun hating, anti Constitution, liberal would-be SCOTUS judge picking nitwit. Liberals in govt, do more damage to their own country than they have brains enough to recognize. When a gun owner and hunter votes for a liberal for any office he is voting against himself. Not thinking it thru.

Well, in defense of Trump, he is an accomplished construction magnate that has built things all over the world.

I think he built this place in Paris and put his motto on it. Look, it even has a handle to make it easier to grab.

Guys,

Go gently on those that disagree this cycle. Let's be honest, we have a sociopathic narcissist running against a scheming sociopath/psychopath. I don't think it's a slam dunk/no brained who to vote for if you're troubled by one of their styles more than the other.

A vote for Trump will likely be a vote for totally ineffective gridlock as he has no pull with any party. (This may be a great benefit to those that see new laws as bad)

A vote for Hillary is a vote for additional interventions in the economy. If you did well working for those that supported her previously your livelihood will do well again as she pays back donors.

I fault no man for agonizing over these choices. This isn't a normal cycle. That being said, we know Trump will be better for the Safari business for reasons anyone can cite. It's just, how important is that particular issue?

Well said!

I'm a pretty hardcore conservative Republican, and very involved in politics.
I have already submitted by early ballot for Trump, even though it tilts my moral compass.

This country has had to endure 8 years of progressive hell, and a Hillary presidency will advance Americas death spiral.

It's pretty sad when these two candidates are winners of the primary. I voted for Ted Cruz.

This is hardly about the safari business as far as I am concerned. This is about the loss of personal FREEDOM for our citizens, who under continued dictatorial leadership by those like Obama and perhaps HRC, are losing our freedoms a bit at a time to where in just another generation or so we could be looking at the loss of our 2nd Amendment rights along with many others, thru really bad SCOTUS picks by the next President. Those who appreciate our freedoms and vote for insane lunatic libtards like HRC are not thinking straight at all, and apparently, perhaps dropped on their heads as babies or something, I cannot figure it out. Shooting themselves in the foot! No one claims Trump is a saint, there is much we don't know about him, but we know all we need to know about Hillary Rodham 'William Jefferson' Clinton. Add the two together and you can use that string of invectives Slough used to describe Trump! You really want them and their crew back in the WH? Really! Wise up. Too late in your case, you admitted to voting FOR Hillary, not just against Trump.

And yes, gridlock is for the most part a good thing as in my view we hardly need more laws for us to live by and lawmakers to ignore or exempt themselves from. Its time to clean house! For me it was a no brainer, Trump for all his faults is much preferable to the anti freedom wicked witch. Slam dunk!!

To the OP's initial point....
On my first hunt in Africa, politics came up as it is bound to as people visit over several days time. But my PH made an interesting point... He commented how he did not understand how the Democrats could possibly win an election in the United States as all but one of the clients he had ever met in his many years PHing, were Republicans. And then he went on to explain that the one Democrat he had as a client, was really weird (his words, not mine;)

So although I can appreciate the OP comments and I "get it" what is being stated, somehow I don't think the Outfitters in Africa are very concerned about offending potential clients in this regard.

And yes I saw the statistics posted about percent of hunters, etc. that are liberals or Democrats... So I would add that one has to view those statistics a bit like a bikini... What is revealed can indeed be intriguing, however what is concealed is vital.

Somehow I suspect those numbers are not the same for hunters traveling overseas.....

Now as for the rest of this whole discussion, I agree Trump is not Presidential material.. but on the hand, Hillary???... How the hell did this great country ever get to the point where these are our choices?:eek::mad:

In answer your question, we got here slowly, little by little, bit by bit. Apathy and complacency on the part of a mass of privileged people soon gives in to the pandering of those we have had as elected officials.

Good morning all,

My parents were Republicans.
However, the Republican Party is too liberal and indecisive for me, not to mention every bit as corrupt as the Democrat Party is.
And the Democrat Party is nothing more than The US Communist Party, with some window dressing, as per always raising already very high taxes, punishing the motivated and rewarding the lazy (income tax), turning dangerous criminals loose so fast that the Cops can't keep up these days, encouraging hundreds of thousands of foreign trespassers to sneak in and dump out babies (more Democrat voters).
Lately, they (Federal Fish & Wildlife Department, under current Democrat Administration) reportedly are planning to deliver Hunter's contact information to Anti-Hunting organizations.
When I was a Police Officer, Earth First was on the Terrorist Watch List (suspect in at least one bombing and death threats to petroleum company employees, etc).
Any of you who want to vote for a political party that is battling to give your contact information to such violent organizations, must be travelling with a different map than the one I'm using.

If there is a political moniker that could fit myself, I suppose it would be; "Constitutionalist".
I have very few regrets as I look back over my life but one is that I was not there to help toss bales of tea into Boston Harbor.
And so, voting for any candidate or political party that has made efforts to disarm the people, is a vote to strengthen and assist the enemies of freedom.
Unless the common men and women of this country remain well armed, as per The 2nd Amendment, the rest of our Bill of Rights will not be worth the paper it is written on, one of these days.

Trump is a bellowing buffoon, with a science fiction movie hairdo, however, due to the above described threats to my personal freedom, I have no choice but to vote for him.
Reagan was the best President in my lifetime and Theodore Roosevelt was the best in US History but today, men of that caliber are not stepping up to fight the dragon of tyranny, so to speak.

Speaking of Reagan, one of you Clinton voters posting here, wrote something about the political polls.
I had the misfortune of living in California when I was young.
During my time there, Reagan ran for Governor.
The pollsters were all screeching in unison that, some gigantic number of people / "cross section of California voters", blah, blah, which they had supposedly questioned during the election campaigns, strongly indicated that almost nobody was planning to vote for Reagan.
Furthermore, the general consensus was that he wasn't even a good Actor back when he was in movies (I do agree with that part).
He won the election by a "land slide" number of votes.
Polls my booty, I say humbug.

Precarious Election Year Regards,
Velo Dog.

@Velo Dog I certainly take no issues with your values but I might argue that the politics of illusion are more profound than noted. WJC by most measures is on par with the moderate republican platform of today. Heck, GWB and even GHWB were of a similar set of stripes. HRC appears socialistic but that appears to be for purposes of winning votes. HRC, WJC, and GWB are corporatists. They had similar interests in abolishing the uptick rule, ending glass stiegel, rampant spending and corporate welfare.

The last true liberal we've had is BHO and the last true conservative we've had was Reagan. In between its been nothing but sweet whispers in our ears that are designed to garner votes but there is little evidence to suggest they believe what they say in public when we look at their actions.

That's why its so hard to reach out and grab a friend and shake them for voting the way they do in the past thirty years. Heck, JFK would never be elected today as a republican, much less as a democrat because his deeds were far right of the present parties. (offensive actions to avert war, lowering taxes to boost growth, etc.)

Again, I take no issues with your values but I can't say there are stark contrasts in values from 1988-2008 from any party leader. The illusion of choice.

I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.

Have twice tried to post something that your site canned as "SPAM" or some problem.. "Contact the Administrator"... Not sure why even the "Contact" button would not send my comment so you only received my query but not the content in question. I'll see if I can get it to you this way... NOPE I use a VPN and perhaps that is causing me grief...
